Bio Photo I have been in this business for almost 22years and find myself learning something new on a daily basis. I originally researched only my family's roots however I soon found that my talents could assist others in their quest for knowledge.

Any information on my memorials is either my own or taken from public historical documents. If you are on a memorial with a photo I took, then please ask me if you can use the photo. Thanks!

If you would like assistance with your genealogy or more information on any of the individuals in my database, then please e-mail me!

Terry Sofianos
Inaccuracy with Michael Sofianos
Thank you for your work on Michael's post. There is an inaccuracy with cause of death. Michael died of a cardiac arrest due to viral myocarditis, not a heart attack due to a congenital condition.

When he died, the hypotheses included a possible congenital condition or a viral infection. An autopsy confirmed that his heart became enlarged and scarred due to an undetected adenoviral infection. No one knows why he may have been more susceptible to the viral infection, but it is likely that his thickened heart walls, due to athletics, may have contributed to the hastening of the scar tissue.

The full autopsy report was delivered to our family in April of 1994.

He did faint a month prior when playing basketball, but he quickly regained consciousness and the incident was chalked up to playing on a mostly empty stomach. There were no other symptoms.

Please consider my sharing of this information as a primary source.

Anna Dorothea Schmidt Fischer Weimar (23234970)
Thank you so much for all the work you have done on First Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Blue Island. We have many family members there.

The headstone for this memorial lists the name as Martha Fischer Weimer and all the records I've found on her give only Martha as her given name. Do you have any idea where the names Anna Dorathea came from? I'm trying to find something to document those names.

Also, do you have any idea why the name Martha is not part of the name on the memorial page? It took me forever to find her memorial because the only names I had for her at that time were Martha Schmidt Fischer.

Thank you so much for photographing the graves from this cemetery, especially the Jensen graves. One of them is my 90 year old father-in-law's uncle. He has told us stories about visiting the family in Blue Island as a child, but did not know when his uncle had died or where he was buried.

I've been able to link in other family members including his uncle's first wife.

RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 24040167
I agree with you, Grace Edith Daniels Hannum is buried in Illinois, and we have the Illinois, Deaths and Stillbirths Index, 1916-1947 record of her death - which I note you've added information from that to her Find A Grave record.

Roy Chance Hannum is buried in Missouri, according to the Missouri death records, which someone referred to on his Find A Grave memorial.

Grace died in 1945, age 63; Roy died TWENTY YEARS LATER, in 1965, age 81.

Whatever family members were living who ordered the tombstone for Roy's grave in 1965 may have thought about moving Grace's remains to Missouri, or not. Who knows. Maybe they just thought it was a nice gesture to put both names on the same stone. Possibly when Grace died (in 1945), Roy had his name engraved on that gravestone, thinking he would join her there. Many people do that. But he didn't die until 20 years later, in another state - Missouri.

They were married on 21 January 1931, Cook County, Illinois; she was 49, he was 46. They had no children.

For future reference, can you add Roy's Find A Grave Memorial# 100607098 to her Find A Grave Memorial record?

I've puzzled over this problem long enough and I'd like to put it to rest. :) While researching the Hannum family for a friend, I ran across the mystery. This is the first time in 40 years of genealogical research that I've run across gravestones in two different cemeteries for the same two people. I'm sure there are other similar situations.

Thanks for your input. It always helps to have another viewpoint.

RE: Coffman Cemetery
It's location is just west of Lake Sullivan along the north side of the road leading back to town. As to the name, I'll do some checking. I don't believe anyone's been buried there for sometime. I'm with the County Cemetery Commission and I'll try and get a list of burials for you. It may be easier if you would like to reply by my email, you'll find it on my Find A Grave page. That way it would be simpler to send the info. I have a Wharton relation buried there also. I have been there to it many a time it's well kept little cemetery. Is there someone your particularly interested that is resting there? There are quite a few unmarked graves as with most older cemeteries which always make it difficult. Like I mentioned let me do some checking this week and if you can get back and I'll see if I can get you some answers.
Sincerely
