Memorial 77721748 Lydia Gertrude Bland Owen
Hi Michael, May I have your permission to use your photo of Forest Hill Cemetery in Memphis in my family tree? Lydia, my cousin, is buried there. Still trying to track down her spouse (last name Owen). Thank you so much. I truly appreciate the work folks like you do for those of us who cannot.

Jehu Patterson Phillips in Mt Moriah
I see that his gravestone says only "J.P." When you listed the cemetery on findagrave did you have a copy of cemetery records or a list to guide you? The reason I ask is to find out on the records if the J. in his first name stands for Jehu, as you have it and I have it in my family tree, or John, which others with him in their family trees claim. How is his name listed in the cemetery records? Thank you for checking on this and for all you do for findagrave.

I would have sent you a private message about this, but I didn't have that option. I really wish you would stop making memorials for people who are alive. If there is no death date on the stone, then they are probably still alive. The only work of yours I have seen is in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, so I am referring to memorials you have created there.

Mt. Moriah Cemetery
Dear Mr. Bland,
I would like to let you know how much your enumeration of Mt. Moriah Cemetery has helped those of us who are passionate about keeping the history of this place alive. I am related to the Kilby, Cooper, Rodgers, and Hilliard families. Having moved so far from home, you can't imagine my delight when you first posted your work, I could look at the transcribed inscriptions and imagine walking through the cemetery, having walked there many times during my life. When I realized that there were photographs of my own family members stones, well, it's the next thing to actually being there. Thank you, again, for this priceless gift to those of us so far away from home.

E C Dowdy Memorial

I have written to you previously regarding updating the information on Memorial #18329774 for Elijah 'Lige' Carl Dowdy. There has been no response and the memorial is not yet updated.

His father is Armstead Lilly Dowdy and his mother Susan Henley Dowdy. They both died in Fayette County but I have not yet located the burial sites for them.

Please update the information on his memorial. If you would rather transfer the memorial to me, that would be fine. I can certainly add that information.

Thanks very much.

Duplicate memorial's
Sir!! you have duplicated several memorials that I added in 2002 the CLUTTS in Mount Moriah in Fayette County. I know you knew they were there because you added headstone pictures. Please remove your memorial's that have been duplicated !

Here is what findagrave states about duplicates:
Because so many people add data to Find A Grave, there are often duplicate cemeteries and duplicate memorials added. This is a very common situation and is quite difficult to resolve in a way that keeps everyone happy. Before adding a memorial, you should search the cemetery to see if a record with that name has already been added. If you find a memorial has been added but has incomplete or incorrect information, instead of creating a duplicate memorial you should use the tools provided to submit corrections, additions or a transfer request via the "Suggest A Correction" link under the 'Edit' tab on the upper right of the memorial. If a case of duplicate memorials falls to the Administration, the Administration will have the final word on which memorial is deleted and which data will be retained in the remaining memorial page.

John Cabe Rhodes

It looks like I have added a person you have already added. He's my great great great grandfather.

Since, you got there first I'll be happy to get rid of my memorial. However, if you can match the links to family members that would be helpful for researchers.

Father # 70026666 Benjamin Rhodes
Mother # 70026951 Elizabeth Cabe Rhodes

Here is the little bio I've written:

John Cabe Rhodes was born February 17, 1807 in North Carolina to Benjamin and Elizabeth (Cabe) Rhodes.

He married Sarah M. Patterson on January 24, 1828 in Orange Co., North Carolina.

They had at least eight children.
1. Mary Rhodes, b. circa 1829
2. Leonidas M. Rhodes, b. circa 1831
3. John William Rhodes, b. circa 1833
4. Martha D. Rhodes, b. March 30, 1835, d. February 23, 1859
5. Sarah J. Rhodes, b. circa 1837
6. Nazer O. Rhodes, b. circa 1839
7. Texana Rhodes, b. May 1842, d. circa 1920
8. Robert J. Rhodes, b. August 11, 1844, d. February 29, 1916

John C. Rhodes died October 21, 1845 in Sommerville, Fayette Co., Tennessee. His wife Sarah died November 2, 1885 at the same location.

Thanks Eric

L.J. Henley
Silas C. Irby
Mr. Bland, a researcher in Fayette County has visited the gravesite of Olive Irby and confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt that Silas's middle initial is "C" not "G". I'm am attempting to correct this error in the myriad of places it now appears. Would you mind changing your Find A Grave site? Thank you very much. Lana Henley, Tx
