I have been doing family research since the late 1970's. I have been associated with the Jefferson County (KS) Genealogical Society, being the organizing President and since served in that capacity two more times. I live in Winchester, Kansas. My wife, Marie and I have been married 64 years. We have four living children, 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. My family research interests are many, but especially Riley, Nettleton, Curry and Fulton. We have many ancestors buried in Atchison and Jefferson Counties, Kansas. In addition, I have served the United Methodist Church as organist for the past 50 years and have served the Winchester and Jefferson County North Schools as statistician for over 60 years. I was the Director of the Winchester Public Library at the time the present building was constructed. |

Thanks for attending to the edits so quickly, and especially for adding her obit, it was good to see the additional information.

I just wanted to stop by and say Hi :)
With the backlog of photo requests at Mt Vernon and Oak Hill cemeteries (in Atchison), I'm planning on going up there a few times this season (as soon as I arrange transportation and get my 'request maps' in order) to work on the lists.
I hope to see you there again some time. I'll try to let you know when I'm going up.
Have a great weekend :)

If you would detach memorial #3289915 Charles O. Baker as father from this Mary Baker Chrisman as this Charles Baker was born Feb. 17, 1837 His age at death as written on his head stone is ► 27 YEARS 2 MONTHS 25 DAYS ◄ His wife was Sarah A. Baker; and not the husband of Malinda Higgenbotham.
The memorial for Charles will be corrected.
Thanks so much - we are trying to correct all the wrong Baker information and connections; greatly appreciated.

Hi Raymond, I submitted a name change for my mother Dorothy Blackwood just now. Her maiden name was Downing. I don't know where the Wright came from, except that my father's mother's maiden name was Wright. Thanks for all your work.

Raymond, your memorial site for Pvt. Henry Clay Collins at Buster Cemetery indicates the possibility of his wife as "Elizabeth." His wife was Elizabeth Blinn Collins who died in August 1901. In the 1900 census Henry and his family are living in Jefferson County. Elizabeth's Mary Ann Blinn Pottorf died a couple of months later in Oskaloosa but her body was returned to Illinois. My thought is that Elizabeth Blinn Collins died in Jefferson County but I am unable to find any Findagrave information for her. Ann
|L B||Directory for Mt Vernon Cemetery near Atchison|
I noticed you had taken a few pictures in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. One (Welsh) was near my wife's Grandfather's headstone (Andrews).
I can't seem to find a directory of plots for that cemetery. Are you aware if there is one on site if not online? We are planning to drive through the area in a couple of weeks while traveling to Southern Missouri from Montana and will stop by to find her Grandfather's grave. Hoping that her Grandmother is next to him though I can't find a record of her passing in the Atchison Library list I came across. Her Grandfather is listed twice for some reason though.

The Chales O Baker #3289915 linked to Mary Ann Baker Chrisman is not the correct father. Her father is Charles but not this one. Check the dates. She was born before this one was born. HER father was born in about 1808-1809. ALL the children listed belong to the other Charles born circa 1808 and Melinda Higginbotham.

May I use the monument photo that you contributed to the Find A Grave Memorial for Andrew Swallow, to post on the Vermont Civil War site? ( www.vermontcivilwar.org)
You will receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.
