Bio and Links
Bio Photo I started working on Find a Grave after my mother died and I began working on the family history. I am descended from the Menegay's of Mandeure, Doubs, France. Starting with Jean Baptiste Menegay, until Joseph Claude Menegay and wife, Marie Joseph Poinsot came to the U.S. with their family. I am descended from the U.S. Menegay's starting with Joseph Claude's son, John Baptiste Menegay and wife Victoria Gladieux. From their son Edward and his wife Elizabeth Weber, and from their son John Edward and his wife Katherine "Katie" Giey. From their daughter, Lillian C. Menegay, my mother.
If you have more information than I have about your, my, ancestors, please email me and I will be glad to enter it. If you have pictures please put them on, and let me know. I would like to have them too.

Re: GG Grandpa's Bio. He was born in 1868 as I provided his Death cert. therfore, it is impossible that he had served in the American Civil War. Maybe WW1?

Warm Regards,

Memorial# 54969991 Caroline Socie Cholley
I recently found online the 1855 will of Charles A Socie (b abt 1780) that mentions his wife Celestine, son Eugene, daughter Elize married to Joseph Entin, and daughter Caroline married to Pierre Chalet aka Peter Cholley. The will is written in French but my bi-lingual friend translated it for me. The will, an 1850 census, and an 1838 passenger list have convinced me that Caroline Socie Cholley's father is NOT Jean Baptiste Socie, but Charles A Socie. I'm happy to share my research if you contact me.

Mary Louise Haidet Elder
Hello distant cousin,

Would you mind changing Mary Louise (Haidet) Elder's place of burial to St. Joseph Cemetery in Lockbourne, Franklin, OH. It is attached to the one in Columbus. Her husband John is also at the Lockbourne location.

Thanks for your help!

Rita Zwick 86048647
I believe that the Rita Zwick (86048647) that you have linked to Herman (# 80495299) and Florence Gulling Zwick (# 82194653) is the wrong Rita Zwick. Rita Zwick France (# 105878326) who died in 2001 is the correct Rita Zwick. Her obit reflects that she is the daughter of Herman and Florence.

The Louisville Herald, September 27, 2001
Rita M. France, age 85, of Louisville, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away Saturday, September 22, 2001 in St. Joseph Care Center following an extended illness. Rita was born August 19, 1916 in Nimishillen Township to the late Herman and Florence (Gulling) Zwick. She was the former owner and office manager of France Carpet Service in Louisville. Rita was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church where she was very active in many programs including the churchs Liturgy Committee, Bereavement Committee, and FISH.
Rita leaves behind three daughters, Connie Workman and her fiance Dan Zucal of North Canton, Maurita France of North Canton and Mary Eileen Schumacher of Ukiah, CA; six sons and five daughters-in-law, Joe and Jackie France of North Canton, John and Ruth France of Louisville, Jerry and Monica France of Louisville, Jude and Stephanie France of Louisville , Jeff and Trudy France of Louisville, and Jim France of Alliance; four sisters, Jean Kirtley of Louisville, Eunice Ott of Massillon, Rosemary Phillips of North Carolina and Barb Haren of Louisville; four brothers, Joe Zwick of Louisville, Pat Zwick of Cincinnati, Tom Zwick of Louisville, and Mark Zwick of Texas; twenty-one grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren .
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice P. France , who passed away September 12, 1988 and two sisters, Eileen Clapper and Mary Schrader.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today, Thursday Sept. 27 at 10:00 a.m. i n St. Louis Catholic Church with Msgr. Kenneth Miller officiating. Burial will be in parish cemet ery. Friends called Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisvil le. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Louis Church Building Fund.

Thank you for all you do for
