I have been researching my Wife's & my family for 24 yrs. My wife Sandra Jayne Savage is a member of DAR with 3 Patriots. I am a descendant of 7 Patriots. I belong to The Sons of The American Revolution.|
If I have recorded any memorial that are kin to you, that are not kin to me. I will transfer,even if you are 4th or 5th cousins. I have recorded other families,but I have researhed the person and added all the information that I have found. I am not a grave counter!!

I don't know what happened to Roy. I've checked Ancestry, Findagrave, MO death records, etc. and find no definite info on him after the 1920 census. There is an entry for him in the U.S. Social Security Applications and Claims Index, 1936-2007, which seems to indicate he was at least alive until 1936. It's a text-only record with no image; the info given is his name, gender, spouse (listed as Anice, although she had remarried in 1928) and child (Evelyn). His sister Alberta and his mother lived in K.C. during the 1930's and are in the K.C. Directory. I do see several entries for a Roy Poe also, but at this point have no way to know if it is "our" Roy. His parents and a brother are buried at Riffe Cemetery. I'm heading up to Ray Co. this weekend and will check to see if he is buried there but not recorded on Findagrave. Otherwise, I'm at a brick wall with him.

Roy and Anice were married Dec 10, 1914, in Jackson Co., MO. Jackson County's website has marriage records online - not only the data, but scanned copies of the marriage license/certificate. Here's a link that should take you right to their record:

Snyder, J. M. 35921950, Silver Cliff Cemetery, Washington County Kansas USA (Joel M. Affidavit of Death, 28 March 1879.) M. J. & M. L. at same cemetery. Only initials on rocks as I recall from 1969 reading.
|Lloyd Holbrook||Alphretta Snyder Sharp|
I believe that Alphretta Snyder was a daughter of Joel M. and Mary Jane (Hatter) Snyder, who are buried at the Silver Cliff Cemetery, Washington County Kansas. The birth date for Alphretta should be April 1864 (1900 census). 1887 date seems to be incorrect to have first child born in 1896 at 9 years of age. Not my family line but have interest in Silver Cliff cemetery. Thanks, Lloyd Holbrook
|Sarah Vital||RE: Bridges family|
Hi. I wish I would have known all this sooner....my grandmother, Edith M. Bridges Chance, the last living daughter of Joseph Earl and Maggie Bridges just passed away on 9-25-15. My aunt was working on all the genealogy for the family and I know there was a book published a couple of years ago too. I can ask her. My grandmother, Edith, had all my Grandma B's (Maggie Bridges) documents and I can find them also lots of pictures too. I was born in 1968 and never met my great grandfather, Joseph Earl, but my mother remembers spending time with him.
