I've always been interested in cemeteries, and drawn to the graves of infants, soldiers and interesting headstones, esp. the much older ones.|
I am researching the Hancock, Stewart, Blackwell, Bailey, Thacker and Keef names for my family as well as the Brown, Phelps, Hendon, Moore, and Patterson names for my husband (among others, but these are the main names).
I try to fulfill every request that I can in my area in a timely manner, but I also work a full time job for a living, so that cuts into my "cemetery" time now and then! If you have a request in my area that you aren't sure about just email me and I'll see what I can do to help.
If I have ever entered a memorial for a loved one and you need information added or changed, please email me and I'll be happy to do it. Also, if I am currently managing a memorial for one of your family members and you wish to have it transferred and I am not directly related to them (or you are more closely related), just ask! Family belongs with family.

|m hendon||James Henderson Hendon, Jr.|
My name is Peggy Hendon and I've done a lot of research on my late husband's family. I just wanted to correct something in Henderson's bio. His mother was not Ellen Brooks. His mother was Mattie (Martha) Ware/Wear. She and George Washington hendon were married in November of 1882. Sam Emmerson was their first child and Henderson was their second. I have not been able to find what happened to Mattie. Her parents are buried in the Wear cemetery in Jefferson County close to Clay. George married Ellen Brooks March of 1890 and married Ida Durenda Crockett in 1893. That same year the Brooks family moved to Texas and Ellen was with them. In 1897 Ellen married a Greene Partain in Texas. On the census records it shows her having a son named Horace who was born in Alabama in September 1889. On the 1900 census his last name is given as Brooks and on the 1910 census it is given as Patterson.

Hi, my name is Suzanne Brown and I am the granddaughter of Odis Henry Brown, who was one of Dennis Patterson Brown's younger brothers. I noticed that you maintain the Find A Grave Memorials for Dennis and his wife, Mary Alice Brown nee Bain. Are we related?

I have been researching the Shamblins in Tuscaloosa County, AL. This infant who died 1886 has info that suggests the father was Wm. T. Shamblin #68011946 which cannot be as Wm.T. died in 1875. Also, this Wm.T. Shamblin has been linked to Mary Jane McAllister Shamblin #18729417...this is incorrect as she was only married to John S. Shamblin #18729404.
Wm. T. Shamblin married Mary Ann Lawrence in 1862 and they can be found on the 1870>AL>Tuscaloosa Census living near her parents. After Wm.T.'s death she remarried to John Williams and they can be found on the 1880>AL>Tuscaloosa Census with her children from the Shamblin marriage. I have as yet to find her death record.
Wm.T. and Mary Ann did have a son, William Thomas Shamblin (Mem. #30561008) who married Manda Jane/Jennie Tibbs (Mem. #30560950) in 1886 in Tuscaloosa County....they are the parents of the infant (Mem. #83584197). If you could correct the info on the infant's findagrave site and add the correct memorials for the parents I would appreciate it so much.
Thanks for all your work, Rooney

The memorial has been transfered to DM so that he can combine info and then delete it. I had an email from DM after I saw your email.
