I am an amateur "genie" researching many family lines in both my husband's and my own family.

During the summer of 2010, we re-traced the path of the wagon trains that brought our families out to Kansas, which took us through MO-IL-OH-PA. During our trip we not only visited the Historical Societies, but also many cemeteries where we cleaned or uncovered headstones, took photos, and documented the information for not only our records, but for future generations.

HEADSTONE PHOTOS: My husband and I have spent considerable time, and in some instances driving great distances, battling weeds, heat, rain, bugs and critters to take these photos. Saying that...please feel free to use any photo for your family records. Please be respectful and do not re-post to any other memorials on FAG or any other public grave website. Should you find any questionable information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

This summer 2014 we are working on Lincoln Cemetery in Lebo, Kansas and Arvonia Cemetery in Arvonia, Kansas.

My husband's family lines are: Clewell, Cryder, Clester, Brink, Donley, Dixon, Derrick, Downs, Reid, Louthan

My family lines: Hitchcock, Higgins, Homire, Heskett, Van Buskirk, Meek, Robinson

Happy hunting!

Wesely cemetery- Hopetown (Ray)
I changed the name of the cemetery to Hope Town I did not put wesely but it is a good story that you wrote about it, cleaning and trying to restore you relatives stones. Since I was little and lived in the neighborhood I have always heard Hopetown Cemetery. so I did not put another name for the cemetery. I have tried to work with the Township person, asking if she would check with a probe where my grandfather's grave is on his left side to see if there is a body there and if I could put grandma a stone there, but things came up and she never called back so I still will try to see if I as a grand daughter can put a stone beside her husband Henry C. Ray.So then Henry and Mary M. Ray can be viewed as husband and wife, this is my dream as a grandchild. I corrected it (:)

RE: Amanda J. Henshue Colver memorial
I would agree with the cross referencing at this time since there are gravestones in both cemeteries.

It may be that they were buried in God's Acre and then family members decided to move them to Belfast for some reason.

I have an ancestor in my tree buried in St. James Lutheran with his parents. Joseph Roseberry died at 27 in 1864/1865, was married and had a young daughter. His parents, who were still alive, appear to have wanted him buried there with them when they passed. His wife, Mary, who lived until 1924, was buried in Easton Cemetery. She has a gravestone with her name & his name on the gravestone, yet the Easton records do not show him ever being removed from St. James and then being re-interred in Easton. He is not listed in their records at all, so I have to assume maybe his wife had a gravestone engraved with his name before she died. He was mentioned in his father's will as deceased and his daughter was listed by her married name in her grandfather's will so I knew I had the same person even though the death year was off by one year on the two gravestones.

This is his memorial #31582059 and I copied the link Find A Grave has so it can be clicked on to take you to the other memorial for him. This would certainly work to link the memorials together if both you and Tim Gruber can do the same thing.

RE: Amanda J. Henshue Colver memorial
Thank you for your response, I contacted you because Tim Gruber created a memorial in Belfast Union Cemetery, 171015506 for Amanda. So there are now two memorials for her, one in Belfast and your memorial in God's Acre. Tim also created on for Edward W. Colver in Belfast Union Cemetery, 171015477, so two memorials for him too.

I did find the gravestone I added to Amanda's memorial in Belfast and I can delete it if you prefer I do so. No rush on messaging me back. Please wait until you are fully recovered.

You may want to contact Tim when you feel better.

Myers, Pursel and Hitchcock
My mother was Jocelyn Aileen Myers Holman. My aunt and uncle are Daniel Edward Pursel and Gloria Frances Myers Pursel. My grandmother, Frances Evva Wareham Myers has Hitchcocks in her family lineage. Are you a relative? I notice that the memorials mention Raymond Myers as a half-brother to my mother and her siblings. He is just one of four half-brothers from James William Myers' marriage to Pernie Alice Musgrove - prior to his marriage to Frances Evva Wareham. Is it possible to update these memorials?

Thank you!
