My ancestors were from Denmark, England, and somewhere in Germany. I have a lot of New England heritage and concentrate a lot of my research on my Curtis ancestors.|

|Tina Adams||Thomas Tefft|
Fran, Re your request for a photo of Thomas Tefft's gravestone: he was not found in Montezuma Rural Cemetery or Old Montezuma when the cemeteries were photographed in April 2013 for future photo requests. Thomas' wife Nancy has a memorial in Montezuma Rural but she is actually in Old Montezuma which is in the village of Montezuma on state route 90. It is likely that Thomas is buried in the Old Montezuma with her but he is not on their burial list. Nor is he on the Montezuma Rural burial list.

We do have the original pictures of the headstones. I went back and looked at all of them, but the stones are so very worn, I can't make out much of the inscriptions. It doesn't look like there is much more than the dates, and maybe age at death. Sorry.

|Connor||RE: Lake Hills Cemetery|
The Deseret Mortuary in Salt Lake handled the cremation services. A memorial service was held at Lake Hills Mortuary in Sandy. The person who added the memorial on F.A.G. assumed burial followed. A call to the cemetery confirmed he is not buried there. No idea where he is.

|Esther Kinder||Marva Rae Stanger|
Dear Fran: Is Marva Rae a relative of yours. If not would you consider a transfer. I have her obituary I can add and lots of stories. I was very close to her whole family when we were growing up. If not would you let me email you her obituary or tell you where you can find it. So her bio can get put on. She also needs to be linked to her family. Sincerely:

|Robert Williams||Obituary Information|
Newspaper, Downey, Los Angeles County, California. Date: Thursday, August 24, 1933: "THOMAS O. HOOKER KILLED IN TRAFFIC ACCIDENT TUESDAY" "Thomas O. Hooker, of the Rivera district, was instantly killed Tuesday morning at the corner of Firestone and Paramount Boulevards when the car he was driving crashed with a ten ton truck loaded with gravel. He was thrown out of his car in the path of the heavy truck, and one of the wheels passed over his head. The gravel truck was driven by Amos Hoyt, Gardena, who stated the sedan Hooker was driving, loomed up in front of him as he was rounding the corner and was on the wrong side of the street. He made a desperate attempt to avoid the collision. The body of Hooker was removed to the Thos. L. Miller funeral parlor and an inquest held this morning. The jury found both drivers at fault. Mr. Hooker, 63 years of age, had lived in this district for seven years, coming here from Brownsfield, Texas. He had been Commissioner of Terry County, Texas for nearly two terms. For some time he has been residing on the F. B. Lyons ranch of San Gabriel Boulevard. Funeral services will be held at one o'clock this afternoon at the grave at Rose Hills Memorial Park. Elder J. A. Moore, of the Primitive Baptist Church, will be in charge of the service. He leaves to mourn their loss his widow, Mrs. Emily Hooker; sons Oliver of the George Barber ranch; William, Long Beach; Thomas, Bakersfield; John, of Texas; and daughters, Mrs. Meta Jenkins, Porterville, and Mrs. Ora Jones, of Hugh."
|Robert Williams||Obituary of Thomas Oliver Hooker|
I found the 1933 Obituary of Thomas O. Hooker in the archives in the Downey History Museum, operated by the Downey Historical Society, 12540 Rives Ave., Downey, CA 90241.
I hope this helps everybody's Hooker and Jones family research.
