Hi, My name is Kathy Burner Hamm( Mary Kathryn Burner) and I was born in 1947 in Columbia SC. I've been retired from teaching preschool for the last 7 years. I graduated from the University of South Carolina !1969) with a a BA in English/French Education. Most of my life I have lived near Columbia SC except for 1969/70 in Newport News, Va. and 1970/74 in Washington DC, I now live in Lexington SC (an old farm town and now a giant suburb about 16 miles from Columbia. My husband Frank and my 30 year old daughter live with me along with 3 lively cats. My Mother Lois Carol Smith Burner is from Ursa/Quincy, Illinois, and my Father Lee Burner also grew up in Quincy, Illinois. My hobbies are writing on Facebook sites, collecting cool art and decor for my home, eating out and reviewing restaurants, businesses, and hotels where I stay on trips to Charleston SC. I like to watch documentaries on TV especially Ancient Aliens, Jeopardy, River Monsters, and Archeology and nature specials. In the last 5 years, I have reconnected with many of my Burner relatives who live in Quincy, Ill. and Fort Madison, Iowa. I am currently trying to research My Illinois Smith, Finney, Campbell, Burner, and Bessinger relatives. I look forward to meeting and exchanging information with some of you. I love this site and I have already found lots of information to help me with my searches.
