I am the daughter of Nellie Ethelann Willis whose 1st husband was Homer Steaphen Swearngin. Homer is buried in Asbury Cemetery, Keytesville, Chariton County, MO but has no gravestone. Homer was not my father. My father was Elisha Howard Lair who was Nellie's 3rd husand. Nellie is buried in Jacksonville East Cemetery, Jacksonville, Morgan County, IL, and my father, Elisha Howard Lair is buried on the grounds of the Alton Mental Health Center in Alton, Madison County, IL. After both my parents died, the 4 children(including me) produced from their union were placed in an orphanage in 1951 and adopted to 3 different families--all in the Jacksonville, IL area. When I retired in 2001 I started the project of finding the burial locations for my family members. Since 2001 I have written 31 family genealogy books and my autobiography. Currently I am researching the Tuttle/Tuthill family as an on-going project for the next several years.|

Sorry scratch the last message. I have removed my memorial because the correct one is at: Burial:
Plot: Section 38
I have handed off the corrections to Joe Stoner. See Find A Grave Memorial# 142537792.

|LWESR||RE: Dorcas Jane Travis Tuttle|
I agree it's very difficult to sort out the many members of the Travis and Tuttle families who populated Cortland Town during the 19th century.
One of my best sources is "Descendants of Garrett Travis of Westchester County, New York"
compiled by Maxine Phelps Lines
It identifies the daughter of Jacob Travis and Catherine Gardiner as "Martha Jane", not "Dorcas Jane" and states she married James Horton Tuttle.
Jane Tuttle died in 1836 and is buried near her father Jacob in Yorktown (Find A Grave Memorial# 55063216). This corresponds with Jacob's 1850 will which states his daughter Jane was deceased by that time.

Thank you for your edit..I will link his parents.
I found his death certificate and it also has 14 Mar 1881 as his date of birth.
Who knows how his obituary got the wrong date?
I've found many errors on death certificates, etc.

Thank you for sending questions regarding the Tuttles. It made me take another look at the information that I had and I was able to make some additions and corrections, accordingly.
I appreciate the time and effort that you spend on Find A Grave and the help you give to all.

|Barbara Houston Klabunde||Bridget Moran Conroy|
I have been taking photos of ST Bernards Cemetery while doing research for my husband family (and because I live 3 blocks from the cemetery) and I have taken a photo of The Conroy's grave stone - Bridget's memorial is #155996097. Would you mind if I add the photo to your memorial?
|LadyGoshen||George MacCullough Grier|
hello, I received you request for links. However, I've thoroughly documented this cemetery and researched the family at Orange County Genealogy Society and there is no evidence that George is buried in Slate Hill Cemetery. There are also no empty areas around the other two headstones.
Please indicate the source for this burial. I will decline the links until the grave is found.
