Bio and Links
Bio Photo I stumbled upon this site sometime in 2004 while doing family history research. I have entered quite a few family members, both on my husband's side and my side of the family, and also lots of unrelated folks. I strive for accuracy and use credible sources, but mistakes can slip through. If you notice any, please send corrections and/or additions via the appropriate choices under the Edits tab.

If I've entered your close relative or friend and you'd like to take over editing privileges for their memorial, please use the "Edits" tab on the upper right of the memorial page to request a transfer (choose "Suggest a correction...").

If you are related to SHORT (especially in Tioga County, NY), HOSMER, BURLINGAME, TENNANT, TRIPP, FOSTER, SLATER, HOSMER, BRIZZEE, BEACH, or MEEKER, mostly from upstate/western NY or north/central PA, please contact me. You might be related to my husband.

My surnames are: RAUTIO, WOERNLEY, CLARK, PULKINEN, RAHN, and HERRNECKAR. They are all upstate/central NY, ranging from Utica to Buffalo down to the Pennsylvania line. Please contact me if those names look familiar. RAUTIO and PULKINEN were originally from Finland in 1915. HERRNECKAR, RAHN, and WOERNLEY were Germans, and came to the Utica area in the 1850s to 1860s.

If you see a gravestone photo I've taken and would like to copy it for personal use or in an online family tree, you have my permission as long as you credit Catnip82 on

HerrNeckar Reunion
We just had the annual HerrNeckar (er) family reunion. I was looking for info on the original HerrNeckar from Germany when I ran across your posts. How are you connected? We can all trace back and have fun doing it.

Mary Ann Nichols Short
Wanted to thank you for all the research you have done! Uriah Short Sr b. 1812 and his wife
Mary Ann Nichols Short are my 4th great grandparents. Since I saw your Find a grave memorial for Caleb Nichols I have been trying to verify the Mayflower connection from Experience Bosworth and Caleb Nichols to no avail :P I was wondering where you were able to access the book "Mayflower Families Through Five Generations" and if you have found any further information as of late? Thanks!

Alvin Short
Am I correct that Alvin died in Sayre PA? Do you know who his father was? My family goes back to Tioga co. New York to 1800 and maybe just before. Jerusha Mead Short was my 4th gr grandmother. We are not sure on husband's first name. Could be Benoni or Barton just not sure. Just know that we are there at that time. Son was born in Tioga co. Pa in 1810. Anita

Charles Orwin Smith

CHARLES ORWIN SMITH was my 2nd great grandfather. I have a lot of data on him and his wife ELIZA MARIA [MALLORY] SMITH including their six (6) children that I would like to add to their Find a Grave page. Can we possibly transfer ownership. Thank you, Anthony Boos (Tony)
