|Lawrence Backer||Benedictine Sister|
I discovered your Find a Grave collection of Benedictine Sisters.
My G3 Aunt Gertrude Capser OSB is buried at Mt St Scholastica, Achison KS.
Can I link her memorial Find a Grave #32965368 to your collection?
Could you transfer account management of Rev Matthew Mark Campanele to me? He was my cousin.
Rev Matthew Mark Campanele - Find A Grave Memorial# 120955448
I have the family connected to them but I would like to freely update them. Thank you.

All I had to work from was the Times Picayune Obit which stated St. Mary's Cemetery.
Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.

Re: Find a Grave request for Sr. Salomie Mary Valois # 121317303
We went to Ross Bay Cemetery (Vitoria, BC) on Sunday morning (December 11, 2016) to fulfill some photo requests. We took a photo of the entire section where the Sisters of St. Ann are interred, as well as the marker for Sr. Salomie Mary Valois; the name on her marker is as she was known in the Order “Sr. M. of the Sacred Heart”. Please also note that her forename on her Find a Grave memorial # 121317303 marker is spelled “Salomie” but on the Death Registration it is “Salomé Sister”
On her marker there are 4 more Sisters (for a total of 5 on the marker). The other 4 sisters on the marker are:
1. Sr. Mary Madeleine of Jesus - listed on the Cemetery map and on the BC Death Registration at the Division of Vital Statistics as “Anna Fournier” born abt. 1879 in Quebec, died 23 June 1906 in Victoria, BC
2. Sr. Mary Francoise – listed on the Cemetery map and on the BC Death Registration at the Division of Vital Statistics as “Ellen Salley” born abt 1864 died 13 September 1904 in Victoria, BC - Find a Grave # 121311535. NOTE: On BC Death Registration at the Division of Vital Statistics her surname is spelled “Sally”.
3. Sr. Mary Virginia – listed on the Cemetery map and on the BC Death Registration at the Division of Vital Statistics as “Philomene Guay” born abt 1938 died 12 March 1907 in Victoria, BC - Find a Grave # 121305355
4. Sr. Mary Prospere –listed on the Cemetery map and on the BC Death Registration at the Division of Vital Statistics as “Marie Agatha Theriault” born abt 1852 died 05 April 1889 in Victoria, BC - Find Grave # 121312716
We’ve updated photos of the marker to 3 of the 4 other sisters on the marker, but haven’t yet been able to find a memorial for Sr Mary Madeleine of Jesus (aka Anna Fournier) – goodness knows how she is entered in FindAGrave .
There are often errors in the City of Victoria archives which is where the cemetery data derives from; the City is quite accepting of corrections. The City archives for Ross Bay Cemetery are found at
The Cemetery map is found at http://vicmap.victoria.ca/Html5Viewer/index.html?viewer=RossBay
The BC Division of Vital Statistics Death Registrations are found at the BC Archives & Royal BC Museum at

Again, thank you for the information. If I've misunderstood please repeat. Also, would you, possibly, know where her parents were interred -- that she may be linked to them?
If not, no worries. If you do, please EDIT TAB her memorial?

Many Jesuits are buried in Block 12 on Chapel Hill at Calvary Cemetery in Milwaukee, so I thought he was one of them. No! (And I couldn't find him.) I just Googled his name to find he is a Croatian Franciscan priest. Calvary's records don't show an exact location in Bl. 12, so I will try one more time to find him. Of course, there's the possibility he never had a gravestone?? Do you have any other information as to his exact burial spot?
