I am originally from Royal Oak, Oakland County, Michigan, but I presently live in Plain City, Utah. My husband's kin are from Shiawassee, Clinton, Hillsdale, and Genesee Counties in Michigan, and in Vermont. Other lines go back to Ontario, Dutchess County, New York, and Kent, England. |
My father's kin, (McClelland) go back to Wigtownshire, Scotland, and before that, County Londonderry, Ireland. His Collins line is from Limerick,and Kerry. Another line is from Newcastle, England, emigrating into Ontario, Canada, before emigrating to Michigan.
My mother is from Clydebank, Scotland, and her lines go back to Donegal, Ireland, and Linlithgow, Falkirk, Perth, and the Isle of Islay in Scotland.
I am very involved in Family History and enjoy photographing and contributing to Find a Grave. I have researched many of the people that I have uploaded, using the links to connect with with others on the Family Tree.
I LOVE to transfer memorials to others that are more closely related than I. Please don't hesitate to ask. I am open to making corrections or additions. If you would like to replace my photo for yours, I am VERY HAPPY to take mine down. I am happy to accommodate in any way.

|Meredith Small||MASSEY family gravestone, St Giles, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffs, UK|
It's lovely to meet a fellow-genealogist and taphophile in my quest to photograph and transcribe as many local churchyards and cemeteries as possible!
I am just dropping you a line to let you know I've suggested some edits to the above family records in your care. You may note that the date of one of the deaths (the year) is different to that you've recorded. I imagine you have other information to the contrary, so I just thought I'd let you know that the church records which have been transcribed at this link freereg2.freereg.org.uk/search_records/5818df7ae93790de6a2b3bc0?search_id=58a36fa0791e3b768966622f reflect the gravestone which I photographed in it's new location this week.
You have a great photograph already, but I hope you don't mind me adding my own. The grounds of the church were recently re-landscaped to create room for parking and other uses.
If I can ever do more research or photography for you please let me know - I live locally and work around the corner from St Giles church.
Best wishes and many thanks for your passionate contributions to this great website!

|Cyndy Pugh||Transcribe stones|
Any idea what happened to the transcribe stone section?
|Cyndy Pugh||Ireland cemeteries|
Barb it Cyndy with the Oliver tree. Hope all is fine with you and yours. I was trying to search Ireland cemeteries to see if I could find and relatives and seems no matter what cemetery I tried (from a google map) nothing comes up. Doesn't Find a Grave have Ireland cemeteries on here?
|Anna Du Pen||Nancy J Hemphill|
Nancy J is my son-in-laws ancestor and we have been searching for her, well, forever! We are hoping to get a transcription of the verse on the bottom of her gravestone. Are you aware of transcriptions that have been done already by chance?
We are also hoping to discover why she is buried in Oakland County! Her parents migrated during the potato famine from Northern Ireland (probably Fermanagh) to Philadelphia where they appear in the 1850 census in Kensington Ward 6. They land in Des Moines County Iowa where Thomas buys land in 1858. Nearby is James Hemphill b. 1801 m. Margaret Irwin who also appears in one of the pedigrees posted on the OC genea site (Elizabeth Heaton). I am assuming some kind of migration route??
Finally, I would be happy to take over this memorial.
Thanks so much
Anna Du Pen
I put his wife Mary McDermid's, death notice on her memorial and she was married to this John Mcdermid according to the stone and her obit.
It states his wife on the stone. I cannot find info to say this is an error.
Since find a grave is a grave registration site and we record what is on the stone then I will leave it as is.
If I can find further info I will place it in the bio.

|Cyndy Pugh||Samuel Oliver|
Sorry if I am bothering you LOL but I now have Samuels Mother Anne memorial but can't seem to find his father Samuel. He passed in 1860. Any clues for me. Thank you again.
Barbara you are a God send! I just looked at an Oliver one and it is my family too! Find A Grave Memorial# 90348507 Samuel is one of the wills I was talking about for the Irvine memorial. Margaret and Samuel were siblings. Maybe I can find his other sister Matilda Oliver Boyd! I won't sleep tonight! I am so excited.
