Please use the SAC function (edit button on memorial) to request transfers, and be sure to let me know specifically how you are related.|
I volunteer at Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta, and am working on photo-documenting the whole cemetery. At this point, I prefer not to transfer memorials for this cemetery (other than mandatory transfers, of course) because my research is ongoing. In the meantime, please feel free to send me as much additional info as you wish via the edit button on the memorial.
NOTE: Obituaries are a wonderful source of information, but findagrave has rules about how they may be used. You can always glean facts from them for the bio. If they are out of copyright, or if you hold the copyright, you can transcribe them. Regardless of who has the copyright, you are not supposed to post them as a photograph - regardless of whether you scanned it, took a screen shot, or downloaded it from another website. Please feel free to send me obit text via the edit function, and I will use the info to add to the bio. Obits posted as photos will be removed, and it just ends up wasting your time.

|Evening Blues||Antoine Graves bio|
I will be happy to add a corrected bio if you send one to me.
|Evening Blues||Antoine Graves|
The information on Mr Graves comes from "Images of America: Historic Oakland Cemetery" by Tevi Taliaferro and "The Historic Oakland Cemetery of Atlanta: Speaking Stones" by Cathy Kaemmerlen.
Those were two of the sources I used.

Thanks... It was probably the newspaper but I will go back and find it. Either that, or the Trinity records...as I spend a pretty insane amount of time on that place doing one thing or another !

You are welcome. I'm glad you like the close up picture. I thought you might. It's a very nice picture.
I believe the name is actually Ansel or Ansel M. Evans..But, I cannot find proof of any of it.
Will try to find time to search more.

Hi, just want to thank you for your continuing work for this absolutely wonderful place. Your decision to document is a very daunting task, good luck and special wishes for enjoyment in what you are doing.

Thanks for calling my attention to the duplicate for James Kilgore at Oakland. I have deleted it.
Hi! I'm fairly certain this is my husband's great aunt Agneta Viola Brooks. The headstone appears to have a middle initial V rather than B. If you agree, would you be able to change it on the memorial? thank you ! Leslie
|Sheila Duplaga||Caroline Ferree|
My information on her maiden name is from her death certificate-Father George Stevenson, Mother-Susan Tantlinger Husband-Charles Ferree. A listing in Ancestry has her married to Benjamin Collins 1853-1891, that would be before she married Charles Ferree
|Andy Gappa||RE: Mary Ferree Denny|
No problem. Glad to help.
