Thank you!
Thank you for all the links at Bethel Cemetery. I am not related to these folks, just tring to assist one of their relatives to get family members linked together for their own research. It takes a "whole village" to make Find A Grave even better. In appreciation, Nancy

Holcombes in CORINTH BC Harralson Co.
Mr. FinchThe folks you have listed as Holcombes are buried in a Strickland lot. Una MAE was a Strickland when she died, according to SS records. What is your source for them being Holcombes? Another poster has listed them as Stricklands, so there are duplications.
Thanks
Gary

Richard, I submitted an edit of EB's name. Omitted the "M.D." Actually, he was a "doctor," a Doctor of Divinity, a Baptist pastor. There might be some confusion because of a Dr. of the same name found in Birmingham, but at a much later date.

RE: Leon Thomas and Lola Thomas
I am so sorry, I just saw this message this weekend. I think I have come across some of your information on Ancestry.com. I called my mother and asked her if she knew any information. She also talked to her brother. My grandmother ( Mom's mother) was Lillie Cleveland Thomas, and her father, John William Thomas, is the person who raised Leon and Lola. Mom said they always called Leon "Lee" when they were growing up. Mom said she was always told that Leon and Lola's mother dropped them off at her granddaddy John William's home, but she has never heard who their father was. When I asked her about the "dropped off" part, she said she just remembered hearing an adult say that one time, she doesn't really know if that meant Leon and Lola didn't have contact with their mother. She did say that she never heard who their father was.
My dad's great grandmother was Sophronia Harris. I have not been able to find out much information about her, but her daughter Pearlie Ann Harris married William Monroe Easterwood. Monroe's daughter Lelar Roosevelt Easterwood Ligon was my dad's mother.
My mother said that Lelar KNEW John William Thomas and knew his family, and spoke of them after my mom and dad married. Mom said she doesn't know how Lelar knew the Thomas' or if there is any family connection. My grandmother Lelar was raised in Edwardsville, and John William Thomas had a son who lived in Edwardsville, so that could be the connection. Mom and my uncle both are getting older, so it is a little harder for them to remember as well, but both said they do not know of any family connection between Sophronia and John William.
I will keep looking for you and let you know of anything I come across.
