Bio and Links
Bio Photo I retired as an elementary school principal in 2000. As a person that sleeps only 4 hours a night that leaves 20 hours to fill. Sitting home is not an option. Now, I drive a school bus 5 hours a day and visit cemeteries every chance I get. I have never been to a cemetery that charged admission and seldom is there a crowd. My wife, Sandra, is of a like mind so it works well. We both enjoy the hunt and the thrill that comes with each discovery. Let us know if we can help. If you have additional information on one of my post or you are a relative and want ownership, I will gladly transfer it to you. Just ask. Oh! By the way I go by doc so I know it is F.A.G. So use Doc in the message!
NOTE: Many times the family plot has names different from those on the headstone. I always attempt to provide a reference point for markers. Hope this is not confusing. I will be glad to post any accurate information on memorials followed by--provided by and your name. If you need an easy way to compute ages check out the website Ann Hamlin shared with me:

Its me again Doc...
Hi Richard, a few days ago you transferred ownership of my m-I-l (Rachel Baker)memorial to me, for which I'm very thankful; and now is like to see if you could do the same with my father in law's memorial. His name is James O. Baker. Thank you for your help.

Caleb Bradham and his sister Josephine
Hi Doc, first of all, I wanted to tell you that I admire and appreciate your commitment to education! Serving as a Principal and retiring and going back as a bus driver--right there with the kids, amazing! Adding to that all of the memorials you have done on Find-a-Grave, and wow, I am awed!

I do have a question, on the memorial for Josephine Bradham, it looks like you marked her and Caleb as half siblings. I am not related to them, but am trying to help a nurse friend who is researching Josephine. If they are truly half siblings, we hadn't found that elsewhere, and are excited to try to find the real parents of each sibling. Can you possibly tell us where you found they were half siblings? Do you by any chance know each parent. I will be searching also, and will surely let you know if I find anything. helenholshouser@gmail.com

One more thing before I go, I saw this plaque just the other day and if you hadn't seen it, I thought you would appreciate it as I did. It was found in a cemetery in Bluefield, West Virginia is all I know of its origin unfortunately. I find it very meaningful. Best to you always, Helen

I can't seem to paste a picture of the plaque here, is there an email where I can send it? You can write to me at the email above.

What's up Doc?🐇
Hey Doc, thanks for putting my beloved Mother in law's grave on Find A Grave.💜 I was wondering how to get ownership transferred to me? And, can you tell me, is ownership the same as "managed by"? My MIL info: Rachel Walker Fleming in Swain County NC. 4/8/47 TO 2/13/06. Thank you and your wife for all the work you do! Sincerely, Janie Baker

Abernathy @ 52654377
Hi Richard!

I bring new light to this person, whose name is actually Macaret (correct spelling, not Margaret)Virginia Abernathy.

She was the last child born to Mary Alice NANTZ and her husband Wade Hampton ABERNATHY on Dec. 30, 1912 in STANLY, NC (is there a Stanley, NC ? as I cannot find her Birth Cert. as of yet...lol), and she was not 44 YO when she died, she was 43 (no fault of yours, cause its on the Footstone) according to her Death Cert. #11372, from Morgantown, Burke Co, NC.

You might want to connect 'Macaret' with her Momma, Mary Alice (@ #52654105) and Poppa, Wade Hampton Abernathy (@ #52654191). I hope you have a great Day and GOD Bless!

RE: Clemons F. Schaaf
Thanks for your message, Richard.

I just sent some edits to you, along with the obituary. The other memorial was actually created by another contributor.

I sent an email to Find A Grave Admin to delete the other memorial in the ND Vets Cemetery, as that one is incorrect.

Thanks!

Kind regards,
Debbie

re: Clemons F. Schaaf
Recently I walked Saint Charles Catholic Cemetery in Bowman, ND. I took several photos of makers two of which were Schaafs. Beside Valentine Schaaf was maker for his bother Clemons. I noted your memorial #149425533 for a Clemons F. Schaaf. Which is the a memorial and which is the burial place?

Thanks.

Thank you for the information that she is buried in St. Charles and not in Bowman Cemetery. I have moved her memorial to the correct cemetery.

Appreciate it very much!
