Bio and Links
Bio Photo I started doing genealogy research back in 1997 shortly after my Nanna passed away. She had been orphaned at the age of 6 and never knew her extended family. What began as a search for family members turned into a passion and almost an obsession. I discovered that when I moved to Ulster County, New York, I had moved to the very area my grandmother's family had come from. To give names and faces to those who walked before me is to keep their memory alive. It is an honor to record their histories and to remember their final resting place.

Lillian Hornbeck

Lillian is my 2nd cousin and she was adopted. From what we can find out her mother Florence Garrison was married before to a Becker and then Lillian was adopted by Floyd Young, Florence's second husband. The 1930 census has her as adopted daughter of Floyd and Florence Young.

Her grave stone has the name of Becker and when Liliian's daughter Joan died in 2012, I went to the grave side service and Lillian's sister was there and the name Becker was mentioned but nothing indicated it was wrong.

I will post the obit if you want. Let me know

McKevitt Family
Hi Sharon,

Anna McKevitt Hoferer was my great aunt. My grandfather was her older brother John Joseph McKevitt. Anna was the Matron of Honor at my grandparents wedding on 12/31/1924. Grandmother was Elfreida (Betty) Huppenthal McKevitt. My Dad was born on 10/8/1925. Anna was also his Godmother. Unfortunatley my grandparents divorced when my Dad was very young. There was no contact with the McKevitt family that we were aware of. Like you, I went from knowing very little to learning much. Do you, by chance have any photos of Anna, and/or her parents Margaret Murray and Philip McKevitt?

Work done by Sharon and other Memorial Volunteers will be used in the upcoming Volume XV of the De Puy Family History. A lot of information was gleaned from the Krumville Cemetery and surrounding area that these volunteers have encompassed. I know what Sharon means by "almost obsession". It is indeed an honor to recognize them and their work.
