Steele Family
Hi Priscilla, I am presuming you are related to the Steele Family? Those are beautiful photos you have posted.
Do you have any knowledge or documentation of their nationality?
I am guessing German but not good to guess.
I am helping a very dear friend who was grandson of Ethyl G. Steele and he really wants to know their origin.
Thanks, Donna

Priscilla: You are correct that I omitted Margaret's married name. I have fixed that.
Let me ask, are you a relative or do you document in the Caledonia ohio area?

OK. No problem. I fixed it to read the Tombstone dates. Best Wishes!

Hi Priscilla,
I am going to make the changes you suggested, but I was wondering if you wanted me to change the dates. Is the stone incorrect? The birthdate shows 1857 and the death date 1922 . If it is, Do you want me to note that somewhere? Thank you, Michelle

Asher Zelig
You sent a question, regarding Asher Zelig, "should Zelig be his last name?"
Zelig was not his last name. There is no last name shown on his gravestone, only the Hebrew name, which in his case was a double first name "Asher Zelig" followed by "son of Abraham".
I don't know if there is a Suffolk County death index that is searchable by date of death, which would help us find his last name. Also, since this is the Cemetery of the Huntington Jewish Cenetr, the Center may have a database of who is buried there.
