Bio Photo EDITS:
If you need edits to a memorial I have created:

********* POST DOCUMENTATION **********
************** PER FAG *****************

and then please use the "EDIT" tab. It has been said that "Genealogy without documentation is mythology." (THANK YOU SUSAN!!) For those of you who don't care enough about accuracy to submit proof to back up your edit, don't be surprised if your edit is declined.

I don't feel that I need to have memorials of all my relatives transferred to me just because they are related to me. I'm not a collector. However, I will gladly transfer a memorial I have created for someone I'm not related to.

I have no objections to anyone posting death certificates to any of my memorials. It never ceases to amaze me how many people visit or create memorials for deceased people but balk at having a picture of a piece of paper that says someone has died.....?? Just saying!

My favorite epitaphs:

Marion Michael Morrison (John Wayne):

Tomorrow is the most important thing in life
Comes into us at midnight very clean
It's perfect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands,
It hopes we've learned something from yesterday.

Godfrey Beamguard:

Adieu all both far and near, my loving wife and children, For my immortal soul has fled, I now lie numbered with the dead. Remember friends as you pass by, As you are now, so once was I, As I am now, so you must be, Prepare for death and follow me."

After seeing his WWI draft card listing him as 'tall', I took a look at the WWII card and believe it shows him as 5'10" and not 5'1".

SAC Grandstaff
Marriage Certificate for Henry and M. Louise Grandstaff provides all information for the edits furnished except for her first name of Mildred. The 1930 & 1940 US Censuses provide her first name. Additional memorial revisions to follow.

Thank you for transfer. I have deleted the entry I originated, so, that you are still given credit for creating the original memorial. Judy

RE: E Cranston Riggin
Will do. The obit in the Crisfield Times did not include his portrait. I think my mom's clipping was from the Baltimore Sun, but I'm checking on that now. Is the portrait okay? I may try to get my old scanner working to get a better resolution. This was just a camera photo edited. Valerie

What did we decide to do about her? I will be glad to manage her memorial if you want to transfer, but, I will also be glad to delete mine. I just want to make sure she is linked to husband, before I do. The other edits would also be nice, too, but, the link to husband most important. Judy Muck

I was going to delete mine as soon as all the edits were complete. I am related but only very slightly. She is part of my ex-husband's extended family and a wife of a half sibling of this extended family, at that. So, you can proceed any way you think best. I have no problem deleting my entry, but, wanted to make sure everything had been edited, first. Thanks for getting back to me. Judy Muck

LURA Nickelson
Oh boy, was this confusing! I totally had the wrong person. The memorial I was trying to correct was for Lula and my ancestor is LuRa! This is one of those headshakers that come with some of the older names, what the census taker hears, and how many other sources one can find. I finally had to write down every spelling I saw of this name; Lura, Lula, Laura, Lulu and match each source document until I found the sons. Whew! Aesop got it right with the tortoise and hare ...
Thank you, Laura

RE: Lula Nickelson
Are we talking about the same woman? She married Lemual Nickelson in Ohio, all of the censuses give her Nativity as Ohio (and his), they were not in Virginia until 1940 and her Find A Grave Memorial says she is bured in IOOF Cemetery in Delaware. Her maiden name was Fickel.

RE: Lula Nickelson
I took her birth place from the censuses.
