What a pleasant surprise that you found Mary Elizabeth Adams Tombstone #171953451! The problem I had is that I am a great distance away from Dallas Texas and the Caretaker of the 2 Cemetery's told me that if Mary passed in the year 1937 that she was laid to rest in the old Pleasant Mound Public Cemetery. I am so glad the matter is straightened out due to your walking; I assume of the newer Cemetery. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL FIND... Folks who have walked the old Pleasant Mound Public Cemetery looking for Mary just assumed her GraveStone had been lost in floods, etc. Mary Elizabeth Adams was married to my GG Grandfather Eli Adams and I would love to have a transfer of her Momerial that you have since you have the correct Cemetery! I am very careful with that line & find it, "Oh So Much Easier", to edit a Momerial if I have the Momerial; as you can see I have done a lot of research on Mary's family, obituaries & all. There is a son I have not found & that is John in the 1900 Census of Limestone County Texas. John is not mentioned in any of his sister's obituaries so I feel he passed before 1960. I have not found his mother Mary's Obituary to see if he was mentioned in it & the Dallas public library wants almost $20.00 a half hour to search for obituaries; I feel that is a bit much!!! lol. I will look forward to hearing back from you soon, again, WHAT A WONDERFUL FIND DEAR LADY & THANK YOU...

These are the fun ones to try and solve. I have been doing this for only 2 years so I am a bit green at this but have had some success. I have been personally documenting the Rest Haven Cemetery in Rockwall for about 2 years now and walk it weekly. One mistake that I have seen a few times is spelling. Believe it or not I have had a few memorials that were placed in Rest Haven but were actually in Rest Land in Dallas County. Another one I have bumped into a few times is that they died in the Dallas area and were buried in Rest Haven in Lubbock, Texas. Another mistake is Rest Haven has 3 local locations... Rockwall, Rowlett, and Royse City but to my knowledge those are normally more current. Another big one I see all the time, is that Rest Haven in Rockwall did the service but they were buried somewhere else or they were cremated and no burial. I have seen about a dozen or maybe 2 dozen of these mistakes. I am not sure if Rest Haven was a funeral home first and then added the cemetery. I just know that the people at Rest Haven have told me a few times that the Rockwall location didn't open until around 1972. Does the death certificate list a funeral home? that is a great place to start, maybe they have records Also, do you know where Willis Davis and Lue Mathis were buried? maybe they are in the same cemetery since they are family

I was just curious where you may have got the information that Viloa Davis was buried at Rest Haven cemetery in Rockwall, TX. It just strike me as a little odd because the cemetery didn't start up until around 1972 yet she past away in 10-17-1917. This is not outside of the possibility because she could have been a re-bury there but they don't should her on their records and their records are pretty good since they are a private cemetery. Is there any way that she got buried at Rockwall Cemetery on 205, which use to be called the Black Cemetery of Rockwall until around 1985 when they renamed it along with Rockwall Memorial. If you wouldn't mind.. could you send me what you have found.. whenever you have time. Thank you so much. I am just really curious.

Thanks Marilyn, sometimes these links are so helpful & other times they are so confusing. Thanks for your help.

Find A Grave Memorial# 77699723
Hi Marilyn, I'm just trying to see if there is an error of his spouse.
I have his spouse as Etta Emma Jeansonne Moore, Memorial# 164037013 buried in Pleasant Mound Cemetery next to B.G. Moore,Memorial# 164037043. Photos were recently added for these two by Susan Lundin Smith. This B.G. Moore's stone shows his birthdate as 1894 though. There was no stone matching the Bright Gibson Moore dates.
Etta's sister was Ona Florence Jeansonne & she married Don D. Munger.
If you have an obituary that shows Bright Gibson Moore's widow as Ona, I am really confused. The children seem to be of Emma. Maybe he was married to both sisters, but when Ona died she was Ona Munger & her sister Emma was a witness on the death certificate as Emma Moore.
If you have any clarification, please help. Thanks, Deena Gibson

Thank you VERY much for the transfer of Sarah's memorial & for processing information. And, most importantly making it possible for me to add information to her bio. Have a wonderful day.

I tried to use the e-mail address but it does not appear to be working.
I am not family ... but trying to correct my McCracken info that I was collecting for someone. I had William as the father of William, Isaac, Seneca and Ovid ... not Cyrus, AND I did not have a father for either William or Cyrus ... so I have lots to reprocess to see WHY I made that mistake and exactly how and where I got off track. Did something slip through without a source ... could be. I am most definitely not the one with full knowledge about this family. I need to un-link and link a few things before I have any semblance of order.
Since I am more than confused at the moment, I see the potential of making it worse, so I thought I should send a note to the creators of the 2 memorials regarding a potential conflict since 2 different men are referenced as being the person with 4 Nov 1782 death date at the same location. Not that it can't happen that both McCracken men died "equally" ... just that I'm not comfortable with it as is. I don't have the energy or time to deal with it right now. I need to correct and reprocess all that I already have.
Hope I haven't stirred-up a rats nest for the two of you. I am thankful for both of you for putting your work and efforts out there for others (me) to see. I may not have caught my mistake without all of your input and contributions. I surely do not want to put out information that sends others down the wrong path, so will take the time to figure out my "lineage" issues for the "boys". Collaboration is what it is all about, right.
I have a document with the McCracken memorials and additional info that relates - I won't be working on this but thought that those who have would want to see my concern.
