Bio Photo After 30 years teaching in the classrooms of Texas public schools I retired at the end of May, 2005. I am fascinated by genealogy, and I spend quite a lot of time doing family research. I am now Director of Nancy Nail Memorial Library in Mart, TX. My husband and I have been married 34 years. I have a wonderful son and two great step-sons, two daughters-in-law and 8 grandchildren: 1 grandson and 7 granddaughters.

After my Daddy passed away in 2009, I was elected to serve in his place on the board of directors of the Prairie Hill Cemetery Association, Limestone County, Texas. My husband is the president of the Kirk Cemetery Association, Limestone County, Texas.

William Hastings, your 17th GGF
William was beheaded by Richard of Gloucester (later Richard III) for his stance on the succession of Edward V. Edward V was placed, with his brother, in the Tower of London and quietly disappeared (died) They became known as "The Princes in the Tower" Shakespeare immortalized this in his tragedy of "Richard III". Some thought Margaret Beaufort was responsible for their death, some Richard III. The controversy over this is still not resolved. In fact, the I saw a photo that shows a man pointing his finger and saying, "I tell you for the last time, Margaret Beaufort did not kill the Princes in the Tower!" said Jean Luc Picard. The author of this is saying that an incident in the 16th century won't be resolved in the 24th.

You may turn it in for a merge if you like. Several thousand were transferred to me when the member passed away. Since he created the memorial only the person who created it can delete it.

RE: Byrneville Methodist Church Cemetery
Found her parents, but no sign of her nearby. There are 20-30 unmarked graves in the cemetery. Walked the whole cemetery.
Sorry I couldn't find her. Maybe call the Cemetery Committee and they could help.

Good luck, Bill

RE: Elmwood Cemetery
I've been doing some digging on Ancestry, trying to find Opal's spouse, no real luck yet. I did find her on the 1900 and 1910 US Censuses under her father, John W. Tisdale, living in Birmingham, but she was not living with him when the 1920 census was taken. The censuses say she was born in Alabama.

RE: Elmwood Cemetery - Tisdale burials
These are located in block 27, lot 309. If you look at the map on this link

you can see 309 near the upper left side, about seven lots from the top, on the second row in from the road.

You can download a complete cemetery map from this page

so you can see where block 27 is. Note that the first map I sent is really the bottom half of block 27, so the burials are about in the middle of the entire block, near the left edge.

let me know if I can be of any further help.

RE: Elmwood Cemetery
Very glad to have helped. I took photos of all the other graves around them, and added the rest of the family this morning, about half a dozen other folks. I also added the family stone to the memorials.
