Bio and Links
Bio Photo Retired public relations executive, inspector, newspaper columnist, fine arts artist, short story writer, "Ghost writer" and author of more than 35 books, including CHEESMAN FAMILY HERITAGE, The CHEESMAN DOSSIER, CHEESMAN DOSSIER II: RELATED FAMILIES, and The ILLUSTRATED GARDEN OF STONES Cemetery Book series.
It's difficult to read many old burialstones, depending on the style and technique of the stone engraver, or simply depending on age, wear and mother nature... an 8 might be taken for a 3, or a 5 might be mistaken for a 6, among other numeral combinations. Also bear in mind that some stone carvers have made mistakes because the written material for them to inscribe from was not always clear or legible.
If I am found to have misread a monument, let me know and I will promptly correct it as soon as I am able. Except for the cemeteries that I've worked on and have written about, my primary focus is on Cheeseman - Cheesman - Chessman and all variations of the surname, people related and associated to these families, and their their close friends.
I usually go on-line about once a month more or or less... Quite frankly, I don't trust or really care for computers because of so much misinformation, dirt, viruses and trechery that's commonly posted on them. Find-a-grave is one of the very few sites that I trust and go on.
I am certainly and genuinely always happy to hear from relatives and friends, and will try to respond to inquries as soon it is possible.
Your thoughts and messages are important to me, but I am slow at times, so please be patience.

Surnames that I am primarily focused on for a new book in progress:
Augastat / Augustat, Baker, Bernabe, Besser, Cheesman / Cheeseman / Cheseman, Chesman / Chessman, / Chisman, Clark, Cox, Cupps, Friar / Fryer, Hedger, Herrin / Herring / Heron, Hughes, LaHa, Laundry / Landrie, Orcutt, Plough, Sexton, Thornburg / Thornburgh, Valentine, Willson / Wilson.

Associated surnames; Brennecke, De Floris, Pellizzaro, Ramos, Renaud, Somogyi, Stachowski / Stackowski, among others.

Cheeseman Research
By the way, since you don't do a lot of research on the computer, can you recommend the methods that you find most helpful when not using the computer?

Thanks again,
Tina

Thank You!!!
Oops, I hit the send key by accident. lol

I just wanted to thank you so much! I have hit a brick wall early on in my Cheeseman research and was just able to order three of your books on worldcat through my local library! I can't wait to get them and see what I can find!

I ordered The Cheesman Family Heritage, Cheesman Wills and Cheesman Immigrants. I can only order three at a time, so next time I will get the Cheesman Death Records & Tombstones and the Cheesman Dossier. I just started looking at all of the collateral people as hard as I could and found your page on Find a Grave.

I am descended from William (1795-?) and Hannah Campbell (?-1840) Cheeseman through their daughter Elizabeth Ann out of Ohio. I haven't been able to find any real source material to lead me any further. I will update you when I read your books and let you know of my success.

Sincerely,
Tina

Albert Kite
I'm researching Kite's and came across this find a grave memorial. I cannot tell from the picture but is there a chance that the initials could be R & M.J. instead of M.L.? I have a Reuben and Mary Jane Kite that had a son Albert. I wasn't sure if you could see better from the picture you had taken.

B.G. Cheesman
B.G. Cheesman was my great aunt, the sister of my grandmother Emma Lee Ingram Roberts. My father Burton Lee Roberts was named after B.G.'s husband Burton Cheesman.

I would love to know more about this Cheesman couple.

Thanks,

Gary Roberts

John Howard Payne
I'm doing research on an embroidery made circa 1805 in Albany, NY, supposedly by the daughter of John Howard Payne. Any idea who he married and the names of his children?

Cheesman
Nehemiah Cheesman (1804-1882) was the husband of my fourth great-aunt, Rebecca A Cornelius. Her father, Pvt George Washington Cornelius (1772-1833), who served in the War of 1812, was my fourth great-grandfather.

Nehemiah and Rebecca had two children (that I know of): Richard (1829-1901) and Katherine (1832-1833).

Do you know Robert Austin Dunbar Jr, who is on Find-A-Grave (# 47388087)? He is also a Cheesman relative and has Cheesmans in his family tree on ancestry.

S.R.F. (# 47738583).
