I NEED YOUR HELP: Check out the virtual cemetery on the right. Maybe you can help finding these folks' final resting places.

Born in Germany in the 60's and growing up in Berlin and Munich, I now live in Central New York. I started my own genealogy in the 70's, then did my High School and College thing in the 80's, and came to the US in the 90's. Now I am taking pictures for fun and business. Some of the photos I post are digitally enhanced, so the lettering on older grave markers is easier to read. The information on FINDAGRAVE is provided by thousands of volunteers. Please let's not forget we are all volunteers. I take exception with those volunteers who say their photos are copyrighted. Why take photos if you're not going to share them with everyone? My photos are free to anyone who wants to copy them for non-profit purposes, no need to ask. A credit to FINDAGRAVE would be nice. After all, they are just photos of grave markers, not the Mona Lisa!

If you find errors on any of my submitted items, please be so kind and let me know so I can correct those. It's important for all of us hobby-family-researchers and historians to remain accurate in the data we publish. Always glad to transfer memorials following the FaG's guidelines. Just send me a SAC: Click on the memorial's EDIT tab, then on "Suggest any other correction or addition", that way I get your number and that of the memorial.

When researching European names, pay specific attention to the spelling, especially when uncommon letters are involved. In German there are those "Umlaute": Ä, Ö, Ü, ä, ö, ü.
Do not assume that Schäfer and Schaefer are the same. And Boeck is not the same as Böck.

Search for European Nobility with and without prefix, e.g. Friedrich von Bayern or Friedrich Bayern. Frederick of Bavaria or Frederick Bavaria. For Dutch names with the "van" search with and without space: "VanAusten" and "Van Austen".

I welcome every message left for me, but will delete them after I read and acted upon them. I like my member page "clutter-free", I am German after all. Giggle.

Thank You,
February 2017

RE: Frank Arthur Westburg
I made a memorial for his second wife, added photo for Frank. I can check to see if he was actually buried here. Both headstones include him, so maybe it was just an update.

RE: Frank Arthur Westburg
I think Margaret is the first wife (dec'd 1993) and Carol the second (dec'd 2007, married 1994). The photo for Margaret does not show a death date for Frank, although it's from 2015 and he was still alive then :). Carol is in Michigan, apparently with Frank, because the 2016 date of his death has been added to the memorial. I didn't see an obit in NY; the one I saw was from Chicago. I can add the photo for Frank, with a note that it was taken in MI. You can decide whether you want to change the cemetery or not.

Frank Arthur Westburg
Odd occurrence. I was taking photos in Parkview Cemetery, Livonia, MI and took a photo of Frank Arthur Westburg and his wife Carol Marie Westburg there. Frank Nov 5 1929-Mar 30 2016 and Carol Apr 14, 1943 - Mar 8, 2007. Married 1-14-94. You have a memorial for Frank in New York, with graveside service (according to obit) at Lakeview in NY. Same dates, late wife named Carol nee Speier (although ancestry says April 17th for Carol, not Apr 14 as on headstone, but same death date). My search of obits did not mention graveside service. Elgin is in Illinois (which I did not know). Is it possible he is actually buried in Parkview, not New York? Carol predeceased him, and is from the Detroit area, so that may have dictated location. Let me know. I can add photo to your memorial, or delete it, but it's in Livonia.
