Bio and Links
Bio Photo Born and raised in Fresno, California of Alabama born parents, got into Genealogy in 1997 when I could not figure out what else to do with this computer on-line. I have built up quite a lot of pictures of old shots of the cemeteries of Clay County and Jefferson County Alabama. I have visited most of the cemeteries of my ancestors and my Wife's ancestors in Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas. A Self-proclaimed Historian with a California Historical society (E Clampus Vitus), I am visiting places of historical interest and with my trusty Dimage , Vivitar and Olympus digital cameras have been taking pictures of headstones at whatever cemeteries we may visit and Historical Monuments in our travels in California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Washington. In Fresno, I have added the 1919 biographies of early Fresno residents from the Paul E Vandor book titled "The History of Fresno County" to as many listings as I could. If you have something you would like to have added to a Bio, just drop me a line.

I follow FindaGrave rules and usually transfer close relatives within 30 days. You can complain to the FindaGrave administrators if you want, but you will likely find they too have little patience for impatient people.

I want to tell Mr. Lester Letson that I am so very grateful for what he does. His dedication to taking pictures of graves to help people like me find our ancestors. You are a wonderful person, along with the many others that do the same.
Thanks to Mr Letson, I have found a piece of a HUGE puzzle from my past. I was totally amazed and so happy to have found a picture of my great grandmothers headstone. Keep on doing what you are doing because it is so satisfying to many. I too have been researching my family roots and so happy when I see others also searching. All the very best to you Mr. Letson and from my heart to you, THANK YOU. Sincerely, Rosa Garza

RE: Mary Grado
Thanks Lester, I had the same problems in my online research. Since I need to check the library for some obits, I'll try finding one for her. One last effort to solve the mystery. Though I didn't find her in Newsbank, maybe family did a longer one than Newsbank offers.

RE: Mary Grado
Where/how did you get her name & dob & dod?
Added by Nancy/catsaver on Mar 02, 2017 9:21 PM
Mary Grado
Twice Roger & I have searched the west half of the wall of crypts on the north end of the cemetery, the west inside & outside of the chapel bldg. & niches, & Roger also checked the east half of the wall of crypts. Couldn't find her. I sent an email asking for help, no answer. Will try calling.
Meanwhile, do you know where ST. ANTHONY MAUSOLEUM Location WEST-SNGL ought to be??? I thought it should be that northern wall of crypts, but???
If they haven't made a mistake entering her info., then either she's in an unmarked spot or her spot has a different last name from the records (like when a woman marries more than once & the family prefers to mark her spot with an earlier name, etc.)

RE: Dicey Thaxton
Hello again. Glad to see you corrected the cemetery. However, there are still two memorials for the same person. Perhaps you can work it out with the other memorial manger to resolve the duplication (merge or delete one) to avoid confusion for the ancestors and researchers. Keep up the good work!

RE: Pearl Harlan Austin Garman & Myrtle Logan

Not only was your much needed HELP, accomplished and replied to so quickly. You also took the xtra-time to include info on my Grandfather John E Logan's Memorial. What to me was a cold piece of blank slate. Is now a Beloved Memorial filled with Loved One's names.

Though there are many threads on my Grandmother (the Garman/Gorman)side. I can not find anything beyond my Granfather for the Logan side.

Perhaps the kind and caring help you have provided, will HELP me to string my LOGAN
ancestry & heritage together.

...Happy Tears now falling
...THANK-U,again & again.

Pearl Harlan Austin Garman & Myrtle Logan
Sending you a BIG THANK YOU...! Because of you and others who have created and managed memorials I have found the graves of both my Great Grandfather Webb Garman & Great Grandmother Pearl Harlan Austin Garman(Find A Grave Memorial# 39739626). Both memorials have given me a wealth of info. This is very helpful since there are no relatives form whom I can obtain info from.On Pearl's memorial the names of two children are missing. My Grandmother Myrtle Garman{Gorman}Logan (1899-1986)(Find A Grave Memorial# 102259075) wife of my Grandfather John E Logan(whom I can't find family history on)Myrtle is the twin-sister of my Great Aunt Verda Garman{Gorman}Forston(her info is on the memorial)and Anne P Garman their younger sister was also omitted. Please advise how I can get Pearl(mother) & Myrtle(daughter) added to each others memorial.Thank You,for all your Help & all that you have done to contribute,so many family members can find and glimps Loved Ones from the past.
