This is a fun and interesting hobby for me, as well as a great way to perform a meaningful community service to others. Someday I hope to have more free time to devote to it. |
In fairness to those who may have closer ties to a memorial, please read the Transfer Guidelines prior to requesting a transfer. I will make exceptions if I am doing photo requests for you. You do not need to "manage" every memorial that is part of your family tree. Remember that this site is for locating burials, not building a tree. There are other websites that are more suitable for that purpose. I will be happy to make any links and corrections. PLEASE use the SAC feature ("Edit" tab). Please do not ask me to do links to any "Burial Unknown". Do your homework, first. FIND A GRAVE ADMINISTRATORS SUPPORT THIS POLICY. Please feel free to add photos where appropriate, as you do not need to manage the memorial to add photos.
Please be kind to Photo Volunteers! We are out there in all kinds of weather in a variety of conditions to find your friend's/relative's graves. We are not after a Pulitzer Prize and sometimes even our best effort may produce a not-so-good photo. If any of my photos are not to your liking, please leave me a message and I will try to get a better one. I will not be offended.
I will no longer makes Edits (other than links and dates) for people who do not have their messages turned on. If I have questions, and have no way to contact you, I will not make the Edits. I do not use e-mail; please don't ask.
NOTE: All photos that I have posted on Find a Grave ARE photos that I have taken myself, or, in the case of a few portrait photos, I received permission to use them and it is so stated in the photo's caption. Photos that I've posted of cemetery gates, signs, statues, buildings, points of interest, mausoleums, etc. that have been added to a cemetery's profile page were ALL taken by me and were submitted to the Admins of this site for posting if they chose to do so. Family photos are all photos that are in my possession, taken by me or immediate family members who are no longer living.
Since March 2013 I have taken over management of approximately 25,000 memorials in Inglewood Park Cemetery from Chris Mills. Please continue to send suggestions for corrections using the "Edit" tab and I will get to them as soon as I can.

Thank you so very much for taking this wonderful photo of my grandmother's grave in California!
|Dave Robinson||Lee Henderson Manning - Inglewood Park|
Unbelievable there is still no headstone. I have inquires out to the California Dept of Veterans Affairs, VFW post 2075 in Hawthorne and ABC7 TV in LA. Will start hitting the politicians and the VA if needed.
Man lies in a mass grave in North Korea for 60+ years. They go to superhuman efforts to ID his remains and bring him home, just to forget him again...they can put a headstone on his remains

Thank You, I did not even think of that

The above bio was as noted supplied by Talbot Fisher, do you know how I can get a message to him? In other words is there a way to find this person on Find A Grave. I do not know how. Thank You
If you are interested you can email me at email@example.com direct and we could share our information and stories that have been passed down throughout the years. I am also on FB and you can reach out if that works better for you. I find it interesting that Abbie and Agnes were twins and they married brothers.

She is listed here under Helen Simonds, Maplewood Cemetary, Norwich New London County, CT.

I assume this is where she is buried,(A graveside service will take place on Monday at 11 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery, Salem Tpke., Norwich, CT) but to be honest with you I never met my grandmother, she had a falling out with both of her daughters prior to my birth and my parents never spoke of her. I lost my brother at 47 years old this year and my mom opened up recently and gave me her mother's real name and where she was born and that led me here and on the trail to find my roots for my family.
|Stacie Linart||Rachel Eliza Reed|
I am new to this but upon doing my own research I may have information that you would like.
Rachel Eliza Reed was born to Abbie Dimes Stannard Reed on March 21, 1930 in Bennington, VT and was later adopted by Gordon and Bessie (Horton) Groff. When she was adopted her name was changed to Helen Groff and they moved to Northville, NY where she met her husband Claude W. Simonds and then became Helen (Groff)Simonds. They had 4 children:
Ronald Simonds, Randy Simonds, Katherine Louise Simonds (Linart)(Puffer), and Angie Lee Simonds (Beauchimin). I am Katherine's daughter. I have more information if interested but thought I would start with this. Rachel Eliza Reed aka Helen Simonds passed away 2/22/2006 in Norwich, CT and was predeceased by her husband Claude W.Simonds and her son Ronald Simonds
