I want to give a special thanks to all the people that have created, photographed or played any part in the creation and maintenance of any Ancestry memorials, especially ones related to my family, also a sincere thanks to those that transferred memorials of my family members to me. Wishing everyone a very healthy and prosperous 2017|
our dearly departed Cat, you left us much too soon and we miss you every day~
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am in a thousand winds that blow
I am the softly falling snow
I am the gentle showers of rain
I am the fields of ripening grain
I am in the morning hush
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight
I am the starshine of the night
I am in the flowers that bloom
I am in a quiet room
I am the birds that sing
I am in each lovely thing
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there I do not die

For what it is worth, I want to thank all the selfless members who volunteer to honor and respect those who have passed before us, and to wish strength to those that might have lost a loved one recently. To sincerely thank them for the countless hours that they have contributed walking the cemeteries photographing, creating & or maintaining memorials, and sharing that information with the millions that would not be able to see it otherwise.
I find it such an honor to be able to join people that have been separated for so long, especially children that died at birth, or passed at a very young age, often separated by many miles and years. Even if just virtual connection it always gives me a special feeling knowing that others might not have to dig around to find they even existed in the first place.
Please remember that I always try to portray as accurate data as possible and that I am a volunteer doing this out of the kindness of my heart. I have joined thousands of individual graves with their loved ones that are not even related to me and do this in hopes that it helps others in the future, please remember this before jumping to harsh conclusions and that this is also a work in progress and we can all make mistakes or interpret documents differently.
I thought I might borrow what Jeff Gonyea on his Find a Grave profile:
"We don't "own" the memorials we manage - they are not ours. We may create them, we may update them, we may transfer them to others - we are but stewards. They are Find A Grave memorials of human beings, departed. They are not "friends" on a social media network website to be collected like baseball trading cards. And there's no prize for the one who dies with the most.
The reward (for me) comes from maintaining the most accurate and dignified memorials I can. What we record becomes history, and a record in someone else's family tree. We have a responsibility to do a good job of it. It's a privilege and honor."
Well put Jeff, and I just wish more of the people could soak these words of wisdom in.
*If you volunteer on this website and decide you no longer want to maintain memorials, please transfer your records to someone who has an active account and are willing to take over management of the memorials. I am one of many willing to take over records. This really will help reduce duplicates.
You can email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have someone who has accepted stewardship over the memorials you added. Please send in their member number with your email. Feel free to contact me should you wish that someone maintain the memorials you have created. Thanks!*

She went by Lou but known to us as Granny Reed. She did had many siblings - she was my great grandmother. This memorial is for her & I have chosen not to combine it with other memorials thru linking but thanks for the suggestion & the time listing some of her siblings. Ann

I added the information. A thank you.
Thank you for adding the photo to my grandfather's memorial. I hadn't thought about adding additional photos here, but I should probably do more of that.
