Duplicate memorials: if I have made one, let me know; I will ask FAG administrators to merge into one. They have been very helpful in the past to merge duplicate memorials. When FAG administrators merge two memorials, none of the flowers, etc. are deleted. If you have made a duplicate memorial of one of my memorials, please be kind enough to delete when asked to do so or ask FAG to merge your memorial with mine.|
Transfer requests: use the edit tab on the memorial and click on suggest other edit or correction, list your relationship and please include your memjbership #.
Edits: Please send a note using the edit tab as to where you found the information you would like edited. This will help so I don't have to do further research. Thanks
The fuss about photos: the rule used to be, unless you took the photo, do not copy and post on other websites, such as Ancestry.com which is a paid website. Also there is a copyright issue. After all of my personal and family photos were being copied and spread all over the internet, I deleted them. FAG has changed the rules and now if you post a photo, it fair game for any and everyone to copy and post all over the internet. Therefore, I deleted my personal photos years ago. Enough said!!
Thanks to everyone who have left flowers and notes on my Uncle: Augustus (Gus or Junior) Byrd (# 48422763), who died in a Japanese Prison Camp in 1943. This brave soldier as well as all others who have served and/or given their life for their Country, in any war or act of aggression, deserve all the honor and respect we can give them.
NO Death certificates, please! Although permissable by FAG, they really are in poor taste and take up space that could be used for photos. If someone needs to know cause of death, they can research vital records and find this info for medical reasons.
Special thanks to all FAG members who have so graciously transferred memorials to me. Your kindness and generosity are very much appreciated.

I'm somewhat new to Find A Grave but I believe we are 4th cousins through Thomas Bird (Me through Lee Bird). I'm searching for info on my great grandmother Sophrany Adelaide Tucker Byrd (m. William T. Byrd) and thought you might help. Thanks
|BIRDMAN||RE: Augustus Byrd, Jr.|
Thanks for your message left for me. You are most welcome for the message left for Gus. How could Birdman pass a memorial by Birdgirl and not have anything to say!
Have a great day!

|Michael Anderson||RE: Initialed tombstones at Byrd Cemetery|
Are you related to Cynthia and Tony(?) Byrd? (Their parents owned one of the (two) stores at 'The Grove' for many years.)
As for the initialed grave stones, it has always sorta 'haunted me' that nobody would know the names of the persons buried there, and it has bugged me for decades! I was surely SURPRISED to see PICTURES of them online!!!
I feel extreme RELIEF to be able to share what little I know...and it's not much.
I never knew the cemetery has an 'official name' until yesterday: Granddaddy always called it 'Booger Hill' - even as a boy - so that's what I've always called it. Who knew?!?!?
I haven't finished my post for 'T E S', but I'll do it in a few minutes.
Grave marker 'T E S' is Thomas E Stone, another great-great-uncle: A son of George William Sr, and older brother of George William Jr. I have no further information about wives or children.
THANK YOU for providing me with an opportunity to put NAMES on those head stones! For some reason, I'm awash in tears of happiness, and the SPIRITS seem to be CELEBRATING!
