My immediate ancestral family surnames include Nielsen, Biel / Biehl, Pittman / Pitman / Bittmann and Witzke.
Geographic areas of particular genealogical interest to me include Shenandoah County, Virginia; Harrison County, Indiana; Cass County, Nebraska; Wabasha County, Minnesota; La Crosse County, Wisconsin; Framersheim, Germany; Rabenholz, Germany; Oering, Germany and Bydgoszcz, Poland.

I understand that FaG's Terms of Service allow the re-posting of FaG photos to other FaG memorials, but common courtesy dictates that you acknowledge the original photographer in the caption of the re-posted photo. Thanks.

You had taken some photos of a very small cemetery located in Warren County, Indiana in 2010. I am so grateful that you did. I noticed that there were 80 some graves there but only about 40% or so were photographed. My husband and I went today to see if we could get some of the remaining photos.
After visiting today, now I know why. The majority of the stones if still standing were worn so badly you could even trace the letters that were once there.
I just wanted to thank you for getting there before me. Because of you at least my ancestor's stones is recorded. I'm sure I speak for many more people that feel the same.

|C Proctor||Cold Friday and Greenbrier Cemeteries, Harrison County, IN|
Dear Bob Nielsen,
I am Cheryl Proctor and we have corresponded before about your pictures that are GREAT.
So now it is with deep regret I must report that Cold Friday Cemetery and Greenbrier Cemetery have been seriously vandalized. Very few stones were left untouched. This was discovered Thursday night and I have been to those cemeteries yesterday with Sean Engleman of the Harrison County Cemetery Restoration Team.
There will be an ongoing investigation of the malicious acts of heavy vandalism. If you have any pictures of any of the stones, etc. in addition to what you have posted on Find A Grave, I hope you will send those images by e-mail to me. This will aid in the investigation (and hopefully the restoration of these cemeteries).
Since you have contributed such excellent pictures for these two cemeteries, they will be gladly used (with your permission) to aid in the reconstruction of the stones and for their proper placement in the cemeteries.
Respectfully, Cheryl Proctor
Thanks for your help.
Bob, After looking more, I see that Hugh who was born in 1846 was Rosena's son... but I guess the question is Sarah M. really Rosena's sister as you have in the Memorial for Sarah M. I suppose it is possible that she could have been adopted. I know some things don't get captured in the history documents.
Thanks again for any clarification. Melba
|Melba Francis||Rosena and Sarah M. Sonner|
Bob, I am curious on where this information was obtained. You do not show Sonner or Fleshman as one of your 'family' names. If Sarah is indeed a sister to Rosena or Rosana, and they both married Fleshman's, probably brothers. I am curious as to why Hugh's birthdate is listed as 1846. That would make him years younger than Sarah possibly is if she is Rosana's sister. All of Philip Sonner's children were born around 1800-1810.
Thank you very much for helping to clarify this for me.
Please transfer you close up picture for Samuel Craw, 28109498, headstone to his other record, 28109491. Record 28109498 is a duplicate record controlled by an inactive user and I am asking Find a Grave to delete it. Thanks for your time and work.

Please transfer your picture of the full, tall, monument for Richard Craw, 28109497, to the record for Richard Waller Craw, 28109493. The first record is a duplicate and the owner is no long active and I am asking Find a Grave to delete it. Thanks for your time and work.
