Bio Photo Hello! I'm a graver, an artist, baseball entusiast, and an active participator of American Civil War living history presentations.
Find-A-Grave is an excellent resource for determining one's heritage, family tree, and genealogy. Sometimes the smallest thread can lead to a successful path in defining someone's lineage instead of a dead end. (pun intended)

John M. Wright, # 18004618.
Hello, Any possibility you have the wrong birth and death dates for this little boy? His mother was born 1817. Birth date I have is 25 October 1844 and death date is 16 April 1846. Thanks for all your submissions to findagrave. P. S. I looked at your drawings, was particularly taken with the Civil War era you have depicted. Marilyn

James Murdock, Jr
Hi, I'm writing an article on this man for a non-profit magazine. It will center on his production of tokens, medals, etc. I'd be interested in knowing where you obtained the photograph of Murdock, would also like permission to reproduce it in the article.

Sir: I just now came across your memorial for a Colonel William H.H. Taylor as I was seeking photographs of Brigadier General John A. Rawlins. The photograph you have posted for this Colonel happens to be General Grant's Chief of Staff - John A. Rawlins.

Urban Johnny Hodapp
You posted a photo on Find A Grave Memorial# 8168128. There are two John Hodapps in that lot but neither is the ballplayer. The photo Bill Lee posted is the right one.

I see the John C. Hill at Wesleyan and it says "Jr". Do you know this for sure? If so could you tell me who his parents are. Thanks

is there any information as to Harry's wife Mrytle Lockwood Steinfeldt as to where she was buried. I'm not finding her listed at Spring Grove in Cincinatti.

Thomas Satterwhite Noble
I have run across, in an auction, an early photo of Mr. Noble. I tried to add it to his memorial on here, but was not allowed to do that. Perhaps it is how you have it set? Anyway, the photo came with the following information, and I will be happy to provide the image to you , if you wish to have it. I do not come to this site often, so if you want to reach me, you can email me at If you do not mind, put Mr. Noble's name in the heading, so it will stand out from the tons of unwanted mail I receive daily. Thanks! I am putting the link for that auction here, also. If it works, and you know how to do it, you can lift the photo yourself, and bypass me!

*Thomas Satterwhite Noble (1835 - 1907), "Portrait of Thomas S. Noble", Original tinted photograph, framed. -- A prominent 19th century artist from Lexington, KY, Noble was born on a plantation to a family of slave-owners. He was well known for creating Civil War era historical paintings depicting the cruelty of slavery. Classically trained in France and New York, Noble painted many subjects in the realistic style of the day, from portraiture to still life to landscapes. An influential regional artist, he was the first head of the Art Academy of Cincinnati.,-portrait-5974023ac3

Hello Kevin. I submitted some corrections to some graves in this cemetery that you manage, but as of yet, you have not approved them.

Daniel Reddington #18769122
Elizabeth Ashcroft #18768943

Over the past several years, I have submitted several corrections to graves you manage. You have always accepted them--I am a professional genealogy researcher. You have even commented back to me that you enjoyed my stories that I have posted--including the Stallo and McDonald graves in the Spring Grove Cemetery--I remember that.

Anyway, I have researched the Reddington-Ashcraft (Ashcroft)-Jennings families, as my mother's side was a Jennings, and I am positive of the information that I submitted to you. Would you please accept the corrections that I have sent you for these graves, and any other corrections that I sent you for the graves in the Franklin Methodist Cemetery? If you require proof, please reply back, and I will send you the parts of my report that document these corrections. Thank you very much.
