Bio and Links
Bio Photo My family names I am researching are Ochiltree, Kinard,Lamb, Wright, Shipwash, Dominick, Livingston, Maffett, Bundrick and others. I became interested in genealogy in the early 1980's. I am particularly drawn to grave sites and their care. If I can be of help to anyone for the areas of Newberry, Saluda, Laurens,
Lexington or Richland counties in South Carolina feel free to contact me through FindaGrave or e-mail me. GOD Bless!

RE: Willie Craft
Please look at the Douglas (Douglass) Cemetery FB page, we will post our progress there. Today we began locating and marking the unmarked graves. We also marked graves with tombstones (some broken) and plantings. The city has surveyed and marked their boundaries and we are moving forward.

Thank you for your kind message regarding my great uncle. Your thoughtfulness is appreciated. Although his is the only marked grave in that area based on oral family history and traditions, I know that his grandmother, mother, aunts and other relatives are buried in that area. I am working with the Chicora Foundation and City of Coulumbia to have what is left of Douglas (Douglass) rehabilitated and to commemorate those whose graves have been desecrated. I will be posting on this FaceBook page as we undertake this process: if you are interested.

Kathryn Davenport moved
I am Kathryn (Cathy) Davenport sister, Gina Counts. Her head stone has been moved to 96 beside my mother Nina Davenport.

I'm not sure if you are aware, but the church, Sacred Acres, was organized by my grandfather George Davenport 1952. In 1962 the Old Time Holiness Church was formed. My dad, Marion, was an ordained minister at the church. My grandfather is buried there at the church.

I am glad to run across this site. I have been researching my genealogy and having trouble getting far.

Thank you,
Gina Counts

RE: Eula and Lula Bundrick
Anita, I don't think I ever responded to your query about the year these twins were born. Strangely enough, everywhere I've searched doesn't clarify whether they year was 1920 or 1921. 1930 census suggests one year, 1940 census suggests the other. Other documents on support Eula's contention of 1920, but Lula's contention of 1921. I'll see Betty & Sandra next Saturday at a family gathering, and will try to remember to ask them. Of course, they will confirm what their mother says, which really doesn't confirm anything. I'll ask where they were baptized, and see if I can find church records which will confirm the correct year. I noticed this when I attached image of Lula's gravemarker. Hey, if I had 14 children, I probably would think my set of twins were born a year apart!!!

Charity and John Benbow
Sorry, I don't get requests for transfers often and didn't even notice the number in the subject. I see you are talking about Charity and John Benbow. Yes, I am related, they are my Great (x4) Grandparents, related via their son Benjamin Benbow, and his daughter, Elizabeth (see previous message for the rest of the connection).

Sorry for my confusion.

Elizabeth Benbow Flora
Anita, I assume you are referring to Elizabeth Benbow Flora (41485269). I am, in-fact related, she is my Great-Great Grandmother. I am related via her son, Benjamin Flora (whom I actually have a picture with), his son La Vere Flora, and then my father.

I would be happy to add whatever information you have about her. I believe I have a fair amount of info about her as well at home, I'll be sure to add it as soon as I can.

It's always so cool to find someone that is a distant relative, I'll add you to my find-a-grave friend list.

RE: Memorial# 122438635
Good morning, Anita. It would appear you and my husband are related; Frank is his 3rd great grandfather. If that wasn't the case I would happily transfer management. Best to you and yours.

I am thinking once her headstone is moved to another cemtery ,she is no longer buried in Scared Acer. I am thinking the Memorial I created needs to be deleted. It's your choice ,since you have created her a new one .
