I received your suggestion and have added it to her bio. I also changed the middle name from R. to Riley on James Riley Wilson's memorial page # 51576572. If these are family members of yours I will be happy to transfer ownership of them to you so you may maintain their memorials. Please let me know. Happy hunting!

Right now I don't see a connection between your Gibson's & my husband's Gibson's, but I don't have it finished either. Are they ever finished???? Ha- Ha

RE: Nettie Steussy
Yes I am related to Nettie Steussy (3rd cousin, 2x removed). Her date of death is in the McClintock Memorial by Shelton, 1985. I think just by the look of the headstone it must be a correct DOD because it surely wouldn't look like this from 1961. If you would change it to reflect 1901, it would match the family records (unless someone has more information than I do on her). Thank you for your help.

Yes, I am a Gibson, but only by marriage. My husband's family were mostly all from Missouri. If you have someone in particular for me to look up in my husband's tree, I'd be happy to try.

Nettie Steussy

I see that you created the record #46315456 for Nettie Steussy. The reason I am writing is that my records show her date of death as 1901, but the record shows 1961. I asked Bill & Denise to check on it & they say that the stone is too difficult to read so they are not changing the record. I was just wondering if you have anything on the correct date of death. Thank you for checking your records.

Transfer Request - McCarty
Would you be so kind as to transfer the Memorials for Bill McCarty 47014872 and Sarah Ann Foster McCarty 41412313 to me? They are my great-grandparents and I would like to not only manage the memorials, but to add children, bio, etc. Thanks so much,
Christine (#48275929)

Thank you for the Bio, lineage, history and descendant info. I have added it to the Bio, albeit lengthy.

NHickman, for lack of a better salutatory.
I found, at the Mexia Library, a listing from years ago not just of people, but who was buried beside whom. Notice that the name contain an asterisk after them. That means that at one time they had a marker, now, "Mother Nature & Father Time" has taken their toll and the markers no longer exist.
Well, I can attest that years ago I saw the marker that stated "Grandma" but I don't remember the name Cooley.
Bottom line, all the markers fore and aft of hers have the asterisks which means hers will be hard to locate, but over time, I WILL ATTEMPT IT. !!!
At least there is a written record of what once was.

Back during May 2013 I reported to U that had photographed the cemetery and there was no marker that just said "Grandmother", that was an error on my part.
I ran across some old notes today that mention a flat stone that only said grandmother and noted that I did not take a foto because it contained no identifiable qualities.
That cemetery, unlike the norm. Is on flat land, not on a slope.
It's rained for almost a month, possibly when things dry out, I can swing by and see if family members or if a second stone has been covered with wash dirt that might pay off.
There is still a little hope out there.
