I have been interested in cemeteries since I was a kid, visiting many cemeteries while growing up in Utah. I have been to 32 states and try to visit as many cemeteries as I can.|
I live in Parker County, Tx and would be glad to help with any cemeteries in the area.

Hello! I just saw your photo request. Just wanted to make sure that this isn't the same person seeing the similarities.

Thank you for sending the obit for Harlan Tray Whitworth #151179775. I have added most of it to his memorial.
|George Barber||Gerry Bertier photo request|
The picture is already in his findagrave memorial at Mt Comfort Cemetery along with a picture of him hanging out a school bus window. Was there some other reason for a need of a marker photo?

|Anonymous||RE: Request for Photo of Martha Martin tombstone|
I have exchanged emails with "Joanna", the creator of Martha's F.A.G. memorial, and she believes she read in the Martin family papers at the Lyon County Historical Society of Martha Martin's interment in Chicago Mound Cemetery. "Joanna" is going to try and find her notes pertaining to Martha's interment, until then "Joanna" is going to list Martha's burial as unknown. If Martha is interred in Chicago Mound, and she could be since records that early in the county's history are poor, the grave is unmarked now. If something develops that leads to another location, I'd be happy to explore and walk the location to see if a stone can be found.
|Anonymous||Request for Photo of Martha Martin tombstone|
I'm afraid that a marker for Martha Martin's grave in the Chicago Mound Cemetery, located southeast of Emporia, KS does not, or no longer exists.
Her name does not appear on the list of interment's in Chicago Mound. Kansas became a territory in 1854 and the nearest town, Emporia, wasn't plotted until 1857.
The following is from the Flint Hills Genealogical Society: "The OGDEN,COOK and OVERLY families homesteaded in the Neosho River Valley, not far from the high mound that some early settler named Chicago Mound. It was on the brow of this hill that the burial ground was started, and took its name from the mound. The first date of a death inscribed on a stone now standing is that of James C., son of Abram and D. B. OVERLY - died September 17, 1861. The second, Orlando G. OGDEN , probably related to Susannah and George ODGEN , died December 11, 1861."
I checked our library in Emporia which has a very good local genealogy selection and could find no record of a Martha Martin but she died before many local records began to be kept.
As a last check, I checked Volume(which covers Chicago Mound)of the Tombstone Inscriptions of Lyon County Cemeteries done by the D.A.R. February 1951. No reference to a Martha Mart=
in was found in the book.
If you have any additional information which might help in establishing the location of Martha Martin in Lyon county or a surrounding county, I'd be happy to attempt to photograph a marker as time permits.
