Just a friend!|
Please understand that I have no control over the names, words and dates engraved on stones, written on death certificates or provided in obituaries. I didn't write them. I'm only providing those previously written words to you.
I have been an active contributor on this site for over 15 years, so yes it stands to reason that I have a fair number of memorials that I have entered, added to and lovingly care take even though they may not be a branch of my own family. It's quite possible that if I had not entered the memorial to begin with, you may not have been able to find them.
Individuals using this site need to realize that we are all volunteers and do not need to deal with abusive behavior or rudeness just because we won't make a transfer to someone who has registered two days or two months ago and want every memorial on the site with the surname of Jones. Or a transfer of a memorial of someone who they think just might be a fifth cousin, four times removed of their third ex-husband.
If you are new to this site, PLEASE read the "Frequently Asked Questions" located "HERE". If you take just a moment to familiarize yourself with these guidelines, it will definitely help yours and everyone else's state of mind, blood pressure and headaches. Just a hint, most people will not respond to your liking when bullying tactics are used.
If you will please use the "Edit" tab located on each memorial, I will be more than happy to correct, edit or add information to a memorial that is meaningful. I will not add all of the information from the past ten census records that have been released or any distasteful or disturbing messages.
Please be kind. We all make mistakes from time to time. If I have made a mistake or created a duplicate memorial later than one you have created, please use the "Edit" tab and send me the correction or let me know of the duplication and it will be taken care of quickly.
I will make transfers using the "Guidelines" if they are not a relative of mine. I will transfer your children, siblings, parents, grandparents or great-grandparents. All other requested transfers will be considered if you use the "Edit" feature and state your relationship or intended need for the memorial.
Lastly and most importantly, there are so many absolutely wonderful people that use Find-A-Grave! I am very appreciative for all of the suggested corrections, additional information and photos that have been provided. Please don't allow the rude, abusive and sometimes rather bizarre behavior of individuals to curb your enthusiasm or your want to help others.

A duplicate (180364622) has been created recently of your memorial to Charles Westmoreland. I appears to have been created by a relative and includes links to other family members. It is also the only memorial created by this other person.
I leave it to you to decide whether to merge, delete, or contact the other manager to eliminate this duplication.

Joan - I would very much like to talk to you I believe we are related.
My Grandmother was Gladys Lalone (Vandine) Spencer her birth-mother was Maude Forsythe but she was given up for adoption in 1905. Her birth name was Gladys Eileen Forsythe.

I see your name on quite a few of our families' Find A Grave's. Just wondering where you fit in. Would love to talk to you about genealogy. Barbara
|Marietta Henderson Reinberger||Memorial Transfer|
I was hoping that you would transfer my grandmother Betty P McLendon # 80767636 and my 2nd grand dad Andrew McLendon #80767634 to me.
Thanks in advance

Hi Joan! I stumbled across your entry for the man I think was my great grandfather. I am wondering if you have any contacts in bexar county that I could email to see if he was married to Elisabeth and had a daughter named Beulah. Ancestry records are minimal...I know my grandmother Beulah was apparently orphaned, and at age 17 (1909ish) went to live in a general store. Is 'exhaustion' a euphemism for a fever? Or some other fatal disease? Did being buried in a city cemetery mean he was a pauper? Or do you K of if there was some sort of epidemic there in 1904... thanks for any help toucan give.

Joan, Les Cox takin care of that. The other contributors made the wrong link. As for Duffie Farris I think he passed away in 1992/3. He is linked to his sister. Thanks for all you do on Find A Grave Duffie & Kathy
Joan, I saw you put a photo on one of my memorials (thank you), and I clicked on your profile page. Your profile says it all and I agree with you 100%. I don't know how many times I have thought about walking away from Find A Grave because of some of the rude members. So thank you for the work you do and also a well written profile.

My family history research led me to this memorial. I noticed an error that I am quite sure you will want to correct. I suspect that it was made by someone using the "edit" method rather than anything you did.
After the bio, in the listing of Les Cox's children, you will notice the name Martha Estelle Cox. She was not his daughter; she was his second wife. Her memorial is #121063722 and her bio provides the names of her parents and makes it clear that she was, at the time of Les' death, his widow.
In an effort not to bother you with this, I tried to remedy this but the only thing I could do was to add her memorial number as a spouse on his. Removing her as a child of his is something probably only you can do.
I hope this is helpful to you in your efforts to provide quality memorials to findagrave.com. This is an important undertaking and your efforts are very much appreciated.

Hello Joan, I am the little son of patrick, I am French and I intend to come in 2018 to see the tomb of my grandfather. I hope you can give me more information about it. I am looking for my American family, if you can help me I would be grateful. Cordially William Hurst
Hello Joan, I am a Farris descendant and just discovered the memorial of Estelle Farris O'Banion. Is Estelle's brother Duffie Len Farris the same person that contributed memorials as Duffie and Kathy?
