My family originated in England and I also have Native American roots. My ancestors are BASS, HOOSIER, HOLLIE, STANLEY, ASHWORTH, GOINS, NICHOLS & PERKINS amongst others. The BASS'S landed in Virginia and migrated to North Carolina. John HOOSIER married Jeremiah's daughter, Nancy Charity Bass. John was living in North Carolina near Jeremiah Bass when the boundary line for Tennessee moved. At this point they became citizens of Carter County Tennessee. They followed the Natchez Trace to Natchez Mississippi where they both received land grants. When Jeremiah died, John and Nancy Charity Bass, his wife, pulled up stakes and moved to Louisiana settling in the Neutral Strip. Most of my family stayed in Louisiana, but some moved on into Texas. My BASS and HOOSIER Ancestors are some of the first settlers of Virginia, North Carolina (See Bass's Choice), Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana.|
I spend every free moment working on my genealogy and documenting cemeteries. For me it is not just a hobby, but a passion. While traveling on business, I always take the opportunity to locate the nearest cemeteries.
I am not picky about transferring non-family member's memorials. Just contact me and we will see if we can work something out. If you see a memorial that needs correction, feel free to contact me and give me the details, but please remember to BE NICE. If I have taken a photo of one of your ancestors headstones, feel free to use it. That is why I do what I do. You don't have to ask either, I believe that by freely sharing we all benefit.
For those that have photo requests, remember to say thank you to the contributor that fulfills that request. We spend our time and gas going to cemeteries that are not always near. It is always so nice to hear from people that find a loved one that I have been able to create a memorial for.
I live in Northern New Jersey, and in the winter months, I won't be able to go to the cemeteries due to weather but will make every effort once spring and time allows.

Wow, what a mess! And, how confusing for all! I understand your wanting to get the memorials in the correct cemetery. I hope findagrave responds and figures it all out!

Dear Celeste & David,
Several duplicates memorials are made for the same family. I have seen other duplicates that have been merged, but I don't know how that is accomplished. Could you please try to find out? You both have nice memorials with different information to be obtained, but it becomes very confusing. I believe David's memorial was created first.
One instance is for Garret Jacob Tallman. Memorial# 11618749 and Memorial# 94678205
You should see other duplicates for this family.

Thank you for your work on FindaGrave.
I am connected to the Benjamin S. and Catherine E. Harrison family through marriage and have them on my family tree. May I copy the photo you took of their gravestone for my tree? Thank you, Carol J

What I am trying to explain to you is you can remove your Thomas Jefferson Brown from the parents you have connected him to. I have contacted the proper authorities at find a grave in hopes we can get it removed from Thomas Jefferson Brown I and Mary Ann Summers. I realize there is a Thomas Brown in Bon Weir Newton County Texas. However he is not a relative of the people you connected him to. Also had you have done your research you would have discovered your Thomas wife maiden name was Ford. There are many trees with our Thomas Jefferson Brown beginning in 1880 with his parents. Please feel free to search Ancestry and you will see. Pictures of Mary Ann Summers and Thomas Jefferson Summers have been added by myself May O'Neal and Nora Brown because we are there family. We also know where he is buried and have numerous pictures of him. All we ask is you remove your memorial number so we can add the real Thomas Jefferson Brown along with his children. They need to be connected together. Your Thomas Brown has a family in Newton County and he needs to be with them. Your memorial will stay on find a grave just not connected to the wrong family. You said you did not understand? Is this to hard to understand. Your Thomas Jefferson states on census mother born Georgia father born North Carolina. Thomas and Mary were both born Tennessee. That along with death in Anderson County should make it easy to understand. I never add anyone to parents before I do the work. As always I close bidding you peace and I pray you will fix this. My husband knew his grandfather and it is not that man.

The reason it is wrong is you have attached him to the wrong family. Everyone in Louisiana and Texas are upset. You have attached the wrong Thomas Jefferson Brown. They have the same birth years but not the same parents. The real Thomas Jefferson Brown as you can plainly see died in Elkhart Anderson County. He is also buried there in Garden of Memory with numerous children. Now I can see there is the one you placed with our family and that is how you placed the wrong man with a family.
Why do you not contact the grave yard and find out his next of kin. I am sure they will confirm he is not of the family you have him with.
Celeste many people have the same name google yours but they are not born to your parents. I ask you remove this gentleman he is not child of Mary Ann Summers or Thomas Jefferson Brown I. This family have even had reunions in Texas and in Louisiana. We all know this is not the son of the man you have attached to them. My husband knew his grandfather and his sister also said who is that man. Did you not go look at the memorial number I gave you for Thomas Jefferson Brown? Now I am in the process of getting an attorney whom is related to the Brown and Parker line to clear this matter up. There are even books about them with Tom Brown and his parents. I urge you to clear this up now. As always I close bidding you peace. I am not telling you to remove him from find a grave only from the family you have added him to.

The picture you have added of Thomas Jefferson Brown memorial number 47724543 buried in Bon Weir Newton County Texas is not correct. Thomas Jefferson Brown II is buried in Elkhart Anderson County Texas Garden of Memory memorial number 18729367 . Thomas Jefferson Brown was my husbands grandfather he was 6 feet 5 inch's tall and was the son of Mary Ann Summers daughter of Ivory Summers and Mary Ann Byrd . Thomas Jefferson Brown I his father was son of James Brown and Jane Butler.Thomas first married Lela Ponder she died 1913 and he married Myrtle Lee Parker. Myrtle was the third great-granddaughter of Hannah Morgan Boone and Joshua Pennington. Her father was William Dickerson Parker he was the nephew of Mercer Parker whom was father of Cynthia Ann Parker mother of Quanah Parker. Thomas Jefferson's children only one son left and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren are very upset that the wrong picture and grave marker are with Thomas Jefferson the first and his wife Mary Ann Summers. You see to us find a grave is a way to put the family circle together again no matter where you are buried you again can be together. Seeing the rich family history I hope you will remove this picture and person. As always I close bidding you peace. Also I have been in touch with Louise Goff whom created this memorial.

She is on my tree on ancestry. I have a picture of her.

You have posted info on his memorial site. Do you have any information that he might be a war veteran?
