First I want to thank you for helping to build the invaluable Find a Grave database. It has been SO helpful in my long-term research project on Sarah Orne Jewett's correspondence.

Terry Heller

Regarding this page: https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=perkins&GSfn=mary&GSby=1883&GSbyrel=in&GSdyrel=in&GSst=21&GScntry=4&GSob=n&GRid=167745380&df=all&

I believe you'll find this information from my annotation of Jewett correspondence relevant.

Mrs. Edith Forbes Perkins (1843 - 1925), of Westwood, Massachusetts, and Burlington, Iowa, was the wife of Charles Elliott Perkins (1840-1907), president of the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Railroad. They had seven children, Robert Forbes (1865), Elsie Alice (1867- ), Edith Forbes (1873- ) , Margaret (1876-), Charles Elliot Jr. (1881-), MARY RUSSELL (1883-1970), and Samuel George (1889-)." In 1931, daughter Edith Perkins Cunningham edited the Letters and Journals of Edith Forbes Perkins, 1908-1925, in four volumes. Mrs. Perkins, a niece of John M. Forbes, also corresponded with Annie Fields, Susan Burley Cabot, Helen Choate Bell, Rose Lamb, and Mary Jewett.

Apparently he must have remarried and he is buried with his second wife. You have 2 memorials for him since he is memorialized on both stones. You may wish to combine them.

# 98701267 w/ second wife Evelyn
# 114025641 w/ first wife Gertrude

Re: Rena Pearle Lovinia FOX Mackin
jtb,

I believe the gravestone date of birth is incorrect. I have a copy of Rena's baptism record from Apr 2, 1891, and it indicates a birth date of Jun 4, 1888. The 1888 DoB is consistent with census reports, although it does not agree with her age listed on her death cert.

https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=170949240

Also note that her middle name is spelled Pearle.

Thanks.
