Bio and Links
Bio Photo Our names are David 'DJ' & Judi. We live in Northwest Tennessee but have a great amount of family from Tallahatchie County, Mississippi.

We have taken a great interest in finding out about family ancestors and preserving cemeteries digitally for future generations.

TRANSFERS: Please go to the memorial you wish to have transferred and request a transfer from there. If you want to manage a relatives memorial, please let us know and we will be glad to transfer it to you (except our own relatives). From the FAQ: Fourth, Explain your relationship in the request! While I do transfer out of guidelines, please let me know your relationship to the person in the memorial, not just "They're a relative."

Find A Grave rules on:

"Is it acceptable to add a memorial for someone who is still living?

Please try to avoid it. In general, we do not encourage adding memorials for individuals who are still living. We do realize, however, that when transcribing a cemetery, it is not always possible to determine if the person is living or not. Please do not add pre-need memorials from (1925-present) to Find A Grave. Memorials for individuals who are alive will be removed when requested (the exception being for 'famous' individuals who already have a burial location in place). You are always welcome to create a 'pre-need' memorial for yourself, if you would like, provided that you have a pre-need headstone already in place in a cemetery."

Charles R Harris
Clagget Robbins Mullins
Principal of my late father's high school in Newbern, Dyer County, Tennessee and father of fellow Naval Reserve officer, Hayden Friel Mullins. Amusing story my paternal grandmother always told, "Professor Mullins was painting his house on West Main Street and up on a ladder when he stepped back to admire his work." Evidently Friel's father was a bit, uh, absent minded. Friel was in his own right a very charming character often displayed when we went on a two week "cruise," (two weeks active duty for training.

Like that guy named "Sioux" -- ?
Any trail showing John's middle name is really Elizabeth ?
Just curious. Pretty unusual.

RE: Martha McClure, Dyer CO TN
Thanks for responding. Martha Waddle married two McClures, first William D., who I haven't proved yet but believe is a son of Henry Howell #105025155 and Jsne Spradling, and was born in Humphreys County;

and second William H., who I have linked to Thomas Riley McClure and Tennessee Thompson Baker.

There are children from both marriages: seven (so far) from the first, including "Dossey," and two (so far) from the last, including William Waddle McClure; and I am still at work on them.

Seems almost like all the linkages should be removed for Martha's marriages, and then started over. I got very confused looking at them yesterday. But I do know it will all get worked out. Thanks again !

I am trying to help my sister Find Danny not sure the age my sister was born in 1950 so I should think he would be in that time frame as well, he was her friend from Webb, Ms area. Just asking for a lead, and not personal information. That might be something he would not want shared. If anyone would care to share anything, reply and I will send my contact info to use.

I am Jimmy Hawkins of Webb and the Biggers from Webb and my family as well.

Hi D & J,

Thanks so much for the wonderful photos of George and Malissa's grave markers. It's funny, one of the reasons I wanted them was to verify the spelling of Malissa's name! Wouldn't you know it, she was using her middle name! lol The photos are so clear and the inscription is amazing! I'm not asking you to reveal your secrets, but if everyone did them THIS way, they would be readable and clean at the same time.

This name is so close to your own. Is the some kind of connection back in history?

Thanks again,

No problem on James Monroe Ashmore. Yes, I am a Ashmore descendant. My 3rd great grandmother is Margaret Ashmore, daughter of James Samuel & Elizabeth Balch Ashmore. If I can be of help let me know.

Mary Ann Long wife of Valentine Cloninger
1837 Richard Long Sr of Lincoln Co NC - conveyance of land 70 acres on Buffaloe creek ( he originally purchased in 1814 from Samuel MCWhorter ) to Valentine Cloninger husband of Mary Ann Long . The additional 130 acres was conveyed in 1831 to son, James Long .

I noted your ancestors Mary Ann Long & Valentine Cloninger . I had contracted with a professional genealogist , Ms Kathy Gunter Sullivan to research my Long ancestors of Lincoln Co Nc , in doing so she found a record where Richard Long Sr b. abt 1765 gave 70 acres to Valentine Cloninger in 1837 who was the husband of Mary Ann Long . The other 130 acres of the original land tract on Buffaloe creek Lincoln Co NC was given by my Richard Long Sr to his son my ancestor, James R Long b. 1811 NC .
There is likely a relationship between my Richard Long Sr & James R Long and your Mary Ann Long Cloninger. I also note that your Mary Ann & Valentine Cloninger named their 2nd son John Richard Cloninger. My James R Long named his 1st son John Richard Long and his 1st daughter Mary Ann Long .
Just wanted to share info . By the way my family who are descendants of James R Long & Richard Long Sr have participated on Family Tree , Family Finder testing which is on sale now for $69 . This test identifies relationships such as cousins up to abt 5 generations.
