----My favorite quote------
YOU ARE LOVED BEYOND WORDS
MISSED BEYOND MEASURE
YOUR LIFE WAS A BLESSING
YOUR MEMORY A TREASURE

Ancestors & relatives never really go away, they get buried, cremated or vaulted in a sacred place for us to visit and remember. After all, where would we be without our ancestors? As much as it hurts to lose a loved one, we must be thankful for the time we had together until we're reunited. These memorials in FIND A GRAVE are growing by a million a month and make it easier for the populaces to find & see the memorials of their loved ones. Through these memorials, they live on.
Passionate is an understatement, Genealogy & Cemeteries are a big part of my life. Have 40 years of sometimes obsessive research under my belt.
Genealogically I picked up where my Grandfather and his father left off. I specialize in Madison County, NY and surrounding areas and Warren County, NY. If you find your relative in my memorials and would like transfers or to add bios, or corrections let me know. All my photos are free for distribution.

Though it feels like "good-bye", we know that in reality, for those of us who have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ it is merely, "see-you-later"

RE: anna maria rathrauff
Do you mean her Find A Grave Memorial number? If so it is 70920049.
John Shirey is my 3rd Great grandfather. Family records have indicated he was married before he married Anna Maria and this elusive first wife is supposedly the mother of Catherine Eliza, my 2nd Great grandmother.
Any information you might have on this family would be greatly appreciated.
Let me know if you think I may have anything that would help you.

RE: DNA
Hello Andrew. By now you have seen your match results, right?
One of the things in genealogy is eliminating and your test results show next to no match to my Coverts in Lycoming Co, nor to those Butler Co nor those in Luzerne Co, PA.
The census shows your Wm Covert born NY on at least one census year and I'd say that is where you need to look for his birth and parents.

You should remove your link to the Luzerne Co Coverts on FindaGrave as other people may copy this into ancestry.com and all be mislead.

So while the DNA doesn't connect you to Pennsylvania Coverts within at least 500 years you now know to look in New York.

Like the rest of us, you now can work with your match persons, learn to look at any gedcoms posted on your match #s on gedmatch. It takes awhile to learn all the tricks and reports on gedmatch. When you look at matches, 7 cMs is used to find a good match within the last 500 years or so, but you can code up your search for matches at less (like 2cMs) and actually find some very distant cousins like me. You and I have someone in common back 600=700 or more years ago!

I've been nearly 20 years looking for my correct Covert line and I'm not giving up...

I just want everyone to know how grateful I am for Andrew L. for doing so many memorials and taking time out of his life to bring joy to others lives. We do not know what we would do without people like him. I applaud you Andrew. By the way I have a new grandson named Andrew. :)

Hello Andrew, I had not seen this memorial before today, so it was a nice surprise to locate another of my relations!
I know it's asking a lot, but I wonder if you might literally dig a little further to clear that headstone completely, especially the top, and re-photograph this marker. I wonder if her name is on it?

Thank you kindly for your consideration, and a great big thank you for all of your tremendous volunteer work!

I had to take a moment to thank you...
I absolutely loved the write up you had for your grandfather and the comment about "See ya Late" on your profile!

Thanks ever so much for the time you took telling his story. Many of us do love reading family stories.

Had to take a few moments to pen you words of praise.

Sarah Matteson
Thank you so much for taking the photos at Welsh Church Union Cemetery in Nelson, NY for the Matteson family. The stones for George, Clarissa and Sophronia are wonderfully preserved. The photo for Sarah not so much. Can you read the dates on Sarah's tombstone? I've fooled around with the contrast, but I just can't pick up on the dates. She is my husband's ancestor.
