Grig Clark Find A Grave Memorial# 33484747
Hi George - I was reading through a free book on Google Play called, "Random Recollections of a Long Life 1806 to 1876," by Edwin J. Scott, and on page 133 of the book, there is a short, funny story about your ancestor, Grig Clark in Lexington, SC. I can email you a downloaded pdf of the whole book if you can't find it on Google Books. Enjoy!

Dr Davis Moore
Hi! I am descended from Dr Davis Moore as well. His daughter Ellen was my great-great grandmother. She too is buried in Texas, probably in Collin County, but I don't know where. I would like to know more about Walnut Grove Cemetery and anything else you can tell me. My email is Alex

Thanks so much for the photos of Andrew & Rebecca Barnett!! It is a wonderful thing to help those of us who aren't nearby to go out and get those pictures for us! I hope I can return the favor someday!
Thanks again,

L Lane

Burch family photo requests
While in Livingston this weekend my mother and I visited several cemeteries taking photos from requests I had received. Your Burch ancestors are actaully buried in the Burch Cemetery not Moscow Cemetery. We had a hard time finding the cemetery at first, but got directions from the Polk County Connections Cemetery website. It is located on some heavily wooded land where the dirt road dead ends. We were able to gain access by going through a gate and walking about 100 yards down a path. The cemetery has a fence around it to keep out any livestock that may be grazing on the land. Sadly it was very overgrown with weeds at this time. My mother thinks that someone probably comes to cut the grass and clean around the graves at least once a year because there were not a lot of trees trying to come up in the small cemetery. Several of the headstones are in a broken state and sinking somewhat. We talked to a farmer who was working near the end of the road and he called the cemetery The Old Catholic Cemetery, but on the Polk County Website they list it as the Burch Cemetery. I am assuming that at one time or another there may have been a small community there or there may have been a plantation or large farm that was in the Burch family. It seems that when you find small cemeteries like it, down in the woods and small, it was usually a family cemetery located on the land owned by the family. I did not think to take a notebook & pen with me to record the other headstones in located in the cemetery and unfortunately we had made stops at several other cemeteries taking photos so my memory stick was too full to take photos of all the headstones located there. The farmer had told us to be extra careful of snakes as they had already seen three that morning, so needless to say we were also busy keeping an eye out for anything hidden in the tall grass. :) I do hope the photos are what you wanted and was glad to be able to help out by getting them.
