Thank you for your research on the 136th volunteers. My great uncle died as a prisoner in 'richmond and I assumed he was buried there. I was happy to find out that he was returned to Pike where his family lived. Do you know if there is a tombstone. Also his father brother died in 1885. I thought he was buried in the assumption cemetery with his parents but maybe he was also buried in the Pike cemetery. unless it was just military. I need to look that up. Thanks again.

RE: Wrong Kelly
My apologies. I'm new to this site, and didn't realize how it uploaded the photos for requests. I thought they went to the person doing the requesting, and they did what they like with them. The only section of Kelleys (the spelling in the requests section) is those 3 stones.

I went from one end to the other finding stones for various requests, and that cemetery is a mess. There were no other Kelly/Kelley headstones there. It's not far from my house, and I spend a lot of time over there so I'll check in the tree line, and the back side of the hill where I've noticed areas it looks like head stones where either dumped or fell off the edge.

John -
Thank you for posting INS's service and the flower. I was touched when I came upon it, after spending the day cobbeling together this family that had such a rough time.

I've added a photo and a spouse link to memorial 85571061, and thought since you had left a note a few months ago that you might find it to be of interest.

Hi John

Wish I could remember to use tab to go from subject to body of message instead of enter, thus producing a non-message the first time.

I do have relatives in this cemetery, but he isn't one of them. I used an on-line listing to add the missing graves to Find A Grave. I was contacted by someone yesterday about his information which was wrong in the listing I used. I'm going through the memorials one by one using Ancestry to complete or correct information for each, but I'm only up to G.

I offered the lady who contacted me a transfer if she's a relative, but if she doesn't accept, do you want him? That sounds as if Im trying to get rid of him, but my motivation for adding these memorials is to make them available to those who may not know where to look for their graves.

I thought for 20 years my ggg grandfather was buried in Portville, NY, only to discover he's actually in Black Creek, NY because someone else was kind enough to add all the graves from Black Creek when she did her own relatives. So I'm trying to 'pay it forward' for others.

You are to be commended for honoring our fallen military; you've inspired me to get out my collection of Civil War pension records and add the info to my ancestors.
