Hi! I am Ann I have been doing genealogy for ages it seems. As someone once said, "You don't know where you're going till you know where you've been". Genealogy has taught me more history, more geography, more law, more photography and HOW TO USE A TOPO MAP, than school ever did. My ancestors stare at me through photo's asking me what I've done with my life and I am always humbled to look back and say "Not as much as you did with yours". Genealogy has even taught my husband how to ask for directions :-)

RE: Scott County Cemetery book
Moving slowly, but still moving. There were a lot of people who expressed interest but not many have followed through. Sue and I keep plugging along. The weather hasn't been too cooperative. Then, we both have issues that slow us down. Sue has a torn miniscus which is being worked on this week. Every part of me hurts after a good day in the cemeteries. We both enjoy it too much to quit.

RE: Hope Rice Gillum
Okay, I may get confused on some lines, I have different lines I manage, and couple sets of twins. I hope I didn't get mixed up. I have Rice, Gillum, Dickerson, Gilliam, Branham Grandparents all in the same line and some with twins and some with the same names. LOL. I saw Gillum and Rice I hope i got that right!

RE: Hope Rice Gillum
You're quite welcome, I am a relative as well! Of The Rice family, Faith America was one of my Great grandmas. My pleasure to share with family, my aunt had it passed down in her album and scanned it in to share with family.

Rice Family
Z.T. Rice was my great great great grandfather. His daughter whom you requested her grave photo was my great great grandmother. I have meet a lot of the Rice family members when I've traveled to Kentucky. I emailed you the photo of her headstone.

RE: John Rose # 159991976
I don't mind transferring this grave to you. John Blakemore Sellars asked me what family members he had added, and would I like to take care of them. I, too, have the same dates you have found in my records, but had not done a correction until I was sure about the dates. There might be a story about this headstone. My father bought and placed some headstones in that cemetery not too long before he died. (My sister said there was a news article in one of the local newspapers about his project. It isn't scanned for Newspapers.com, so I don't have a copy of the article. It is on my "to do" list.) Fannie Carroll Rose was his aunt and John Rose was his uncle. This was an important personal project for him to get headstones for some of his relatives before he died. Unfortunately, I had yet to find his records of which headstones he placed. He tried to research the correct dates, but there are two headstones I suspect he had placed that have wrong dates, because the style of the headstones match.

RE: Noah Cox at Acacia Cemetery
You are welcome. It was a nice day yesterday, but is frigid today, so glad we did it then. Noah and Nina's grave and monument are overgrown with evergreens. One of us had to hold back branches, so the other could snap the picture.

Dear Ann:

My thanks for the floral tribute you placed on the memorial of my grandfather, Eugene Franklin Neal, on 21 Jan 2013.

At the same time you included the following comment, "married to and divorced from Laura Ellen Mefford. - Ann."

It would be of interest to me to learn if you are any relation to either Gene, or Laura, and if you have any information on their divorce?

Anxiously awaiting your reply,
George 'Paul' Farris
