I am so looking forward to retiring from my full time job as a nurse so I can spend more time recording photos and grave sites on Find A Grave. Now I work my 8 hours, take my camera and go to one of the local cemteries after that. There are four in our area that have vast numbers of graves that are not recorded here. After a hard day of work, I find it so peaceful and tranquil just wandering around in the cemtery and I find that I am still helping people just in a different way .|
My pet peeve is one of the cemeteries about 10 miles away is huge and so full of info just begging to be recorded but the cemetery is huge and is almost impossible to do photo request there because the people in the office won't do look ups unless you are a family member . They have nothing on computers , everything has to be looked up on index cards. then they want to drive you out to the grave site and then complain about taking time from there office. I aksed why they don't hire someone part time just to do the lookups.. I think that would be a "dream job". But they don't want to do that. So far now I am just taking one day at a time and whittling away as many as I can when I can, and just happy to be helping others find there loved ones resting place.

Christine's daughter, Retha, is my mother's mother. I am Christine's great-grandson. I knew Christine VERY well, her passing when I was a Senior in high school. I also know Nina and the rest of the Sampson family. Christine was known as Mimi to our family and your memory of her was very on-point, bringing such great memories of her to mind!

I am sitting here, laughing and crying at the same time. Christine is my great-grandmother. I called her Mimi. Mimi certainly did love playing cards and crocheting!!!! Thank you for putting such a loving memorial to her here!!!!

The day I sent you a message I found a clue with a photo I had of Martha. On the back it had scribbled that it was thought to be from a cousin of hers.
In closely examining the photo I thought the building in the background looked familiar. I went online and looked up "the Rosenburg Home" and the building matched the one in Martha's photo. Thanks for the info that you had made available.

I have been searching for more information on Martha Britt for some time.Some of the info on the report you furnished on Find A Grave helps me think she is the great aunt I have been searching for. I have a copy of her death certificate but it is lacking in a lot of info. My aunt was the daughter of Samuel & Julia Henderson and a sister to Ira & Pedro Henderson. She was born in Mississippi and married a P. M. Britt. I have some copies of legal papers that mention her as one of the heirs of Julia Catherine Henderson.
In 1911 she lived in Houston, Texas. I can still remember my Dad talking about her and at that time she was living somewhere in Galveston. I have a picture of her and she resembles a photo of my Dad and Ira, her brother.

|Roberta Langford||Much thanks!|
I appreciate you taking a picture of my cousin who died much too soon, Cynthia Kay Hughes.I have many family members in Galveston Memorial and didn't even know my cousin was there until after I visited thanks to a search and your picture. I find going to cemeteries peaceful and hope to give back one day.

I tried to send a message to your listed email - email@example.com but said address was bad. You have entered several memorial pages to some relatives of mine and I would like to send you some more info to add. Is there another way to contact you?

Dear Ms. Ceres,
My wife and I personally knew Vera Wellman. I have put a photo of Vera on her Memorial. Her passion was golf, and she is holding a flagstick on a putting green.
We attended her funeral at Emken-Liton Funeral Home in Texas City. I have her DOB as June 18, 1932, which I entered as an edit. I also know that Vera passed away in Houston, Texas. Iím sorry but I donít know where Vera was born.
I noticed on your profile that you are a nurse. Vera had been a RN when she was a young woman. She married a physician, and children, and her working days as a nurse were over.
I hope you will accept my edits as one who knew Vera.
