After retiring as a teacher, I had the time to look into my ancestors. I found relatives at Findagrave.com which helped fill in the gaps in my search. Because someone else took the time to do those postings which helped me, I decided to help someone else. I have worked on postings for several local cemeteries and love taking the photos. I have tried to be very accurate but realize mistakes are a reality. I will be happy to do any corrections or make transfers when necessary.|
Please feel free to use with acknowledgement any photograph I have taken for your own personal family tree use.
Billingsley, Brummett, Odom, Murray, Cawthorn, Fontane are just a few of the names found in my family tree.

|Randy Odom||RE: Seybert Odom|
Not long at all...just a day or so! :)
And thanks, was hoping you had more than I did. I am a part of that Odom group on Facebook...Odom Assembly I believe it is called. I'll ask someone there...good suggestion, thanks!
Hi Doris! I believe we are 8th cousins, 3X removed. Abraham J Odom, Sr. is your 5th great grandfather and my 8th great grandfather.
I am stumped in my Odom research and thought possibly you could help. I am stuck on Seybert Odom (1760-1824). I do have his parents as Benjamin Wellington Odom, Sr. (1744-1801) and Thamer Powell (1745-1808) but I have no references to prove that looking at my research now. I most likely have it as that based on another researcher but have no records to back that up. The reason I am questioning this relationship is because Thamer's Last Will and Testament does not have Seybert as an heir. She names several other children and even a grandchild in her Will, but not Seybert. BUT...a Seybert Odom did witness her Last Will and Testament! So I believe they are certainly related through Benjamin, but I am questioning the parent/child relationship given that Seybert was only a witness. It is perhaps more likely he was a nephew or cousin perhaps? I'm not certain.
Do you have any references or documentation in your notes and research regarding the relationship between Seybert and Benjamin Odom? Anything you have would be helpful.

Hi Doris -- he's listed as Jas. H. Neely. #52513124.
One other note -- He is shown as being born in South Dakota, but a census shows South Carolina. Maybe one day, I will make my way to Parish records and see what they say, but his was a Southern Family and can't imagine that in 1815 he was born in SD.
Thank you for what you do. I just retired from teaching a year ago -- and when I get caught up with all the chores I haven't been doing. I'd like to do as you. I like cemeteries and history. So, I am in my element.

The record states DOD is 1925. It appears to me to be 1875. Which makes more sense because his wife is listed as Widow in the in 1880 census. Thank you.

Hi, I noticed you posted limited information on Elizabeth Hinton. Is she a relative of yours? The information is similar to my grandmother who was born and killed with the exact dates you have listed.
I would love to speak with you.
My email is email@example.com

|Grave Situation||Damico Grave|
It is my understanding that the Damico family in Rapides & Winn Parishes was initiated by an Anthony D'Amico (aka Damico) who had a grocery store in Winnfield in the early 1900's. His descendants started the Damico chain of grocery and supermarkets now exiting throughout Louisiana. Is Anothony's grave in the Pineville Cemetery, or any other cemetery you are familiar with in the Rapides or Winn Parish area? Anthony would have been born in the mid-late 1800's (likely 1870's) and probably passed in the 1930-40 era. Thank you for your help.
