Death is only physical for the redeemed. Where will you be in 50 yrs, 60 yrs, 100 yrs.?|
I picked up a new hobby. I photograph tombstones for people who are researching a genealogy. After a couple of weeks walking through cemeteries I began to notice the neglected graves. Many of these neglected graves say "MOTHER" or "FATHER" ...followed by their names, dates of birth and death. I see many graves from the 1920s that have no flowers, no sign of anyone tending it. Weeds growing around it, ants or some other animal or insect has burrowed under the tombstone and it is tilted. I read their names and think how the parents of "MOTHER" or "FATHER" shed tears of joy at their birth and how their children shed tears of sorrow at their death. They were typical persons. While young they felt immortal, life would last forever as a youth. They felt indestructible. Then they aged and suddenly found themselves past their youth, health failing, their mortality became evident. "MOTHER" and "FATHER" passed away and the children wept in their loss. Life goes on and they tell stories to their children and grandchildren. They begin by saying, "remember when "MOTHER" "FATHER"…" did this or that or said something amusing or a word of wisdom? But now even their children are passed away and the new generation feels immortal and indestructible, with no need to go to a cemetery. Even the place where "MOTHER" or "FATHER" are buried may no longer be remembered. No more tears of joy nor tears of weeping, no more stories of, "remember when….". We also will one day be where "MOTHER" and "FATHER" are, a tombstone that leans and no one remembering where we were buried. This life is nothing more than a breath of air, a puff of smoke, vapor that dissipates quickly and is soon forgotten.
Christ was killed 2000 yrs ago. Stories of His are still told, he is still quoted. Why? Because He rose from the dead and lives forever. He died to pay my debt. Even when the world forgets me, Christ still knows me.

|Mike||Name Change Please|
Hey Tim, I am the g-gr-son of Sophia Rieck and was hoping you could change the spelling of her first name from Sylvia (incorrect) to Sophia the correct name. I know the Dodge Grove records had the incorrect name.

|Ron Seaman||Tessie Carter Eaton|
According to my grandfather Charles Carter's obituary he was the first of Tessie's siblings to pass.
It lists her husband as Charles Davidson and they were living in Tennessee, possibly Nashville, at that time. Therefore that would be her first husband.
Charles Eaton whom she is interned with would be the second husband.
Tim, what a fantastic testimony! You have done such a wonderful job for so many families.
|Judy Hultin||Block Family|
I am so grateful for all the time spent and revisions you have made for this whole family. I should have asked you to transfer them to me and make the changes myself, but I'm not that closely related.
There are two dates that are off - Friedrick Conrad Black died Dec. 19, 1925 and was buried on the 21st. Memorial# 70102528 His wife Margaret Kelso Block died Sept. 23, 1925 - This is according to their gravestones.
Again, thank you so much for putting this all together for this family - most grateful.
|Donna Martin||Floyd Dale Dunifer|
Floyd (68776005) died in San Francisco, Ca of acute leukemia. He had been stationed in Hawaii but was flown back to California when he became ill. The California death index lists is date of birth ad 22 Feb. 1920.
|Charlsie Futrelle||Lillie B. James|
Tim, I tried to leave an email but it did not work. On Claude L. James (1872-1944) you have Lillie B. James listed as his child. She is actually his sister. Records of the 1900, 1910, 1930, & 1940 show this. Yes, the one who transcribed the 1900 census put that she was 2 but the census shows that she was 22.

Edit was submitted. Would you like to transfer this memorial to so that I may put this family together.

You have birth as 1886 and the marker has Sept 16 1885. You have death as Dec 22, 1921 and marker has Dec 20, 1920. Am I missing something here ? Link is the Brother-in-law of my stepfather. My stepfather died in 1968 and his first wife was the brother of Link.
|Eddie Weeks||Link Vaultonburg|
Link Vaultonburg Memorial # 70116950 you seem to have the wrong dates on his memorial. Link is the Brother-in-law of my septfather.
|Nancy Pedigo||Frances Stuff grave|
Is there any information about this grave? Male, female, family members, history of burial. The grave marker is next to my father's grave. The stone on Frances's stone was tipped over at one time and we stood it back up. My family and I are very interested in this grave. Would like to know more about it and the person if possible.
