Matthias M. Davis.
Hi Frank. Matthias M. Davis was my 3rd great grandfather.

His daughter, Cynthia Jane Davis married James “Big Jim” Massey. They were parents of Jacob Matthias Massey.
Jacob and his wife Artie Mae Chambers had Lina Mary Massey (my grandmother).
Lina Mary and her husband James Thompson had Twila Sue Thompson (my mother).
Twila Sue Thompson and her husband Ronald Yarolem and they had me (Cynthia Yarolem).
I married Lawrence Bender – thus my name is Cynthia Bender.

I am trying to prove that Matthias was the son of Charles Crow Davis and Cynthia Shaver. Since he died so young, there is very little out there. Do you have any records that could help me out? The only proof that I can find of his existence is a 1950 United States Federal Census which lists him, his wife, Cynthia, and his son, James.

I am doing this to prove that he is the great grandchild of Van Davis (A Revolutionary War Patriot). You can look Van Davis up on Find A Grave – Find A Grave # 5199370. I would appreciate any help that you could give me. Thank you so much.

Belfield Brown Family
Frank: We have been finding allot of information from your listings on findagrave.com.
My husband is David Larimer, Buffalo, MO,(adopted name) David Brown (biological name). His father was Johnny Matthias Brown buried in McBride Cemetery. After doing some research, I believe you are my husband's 2nd cousin. Belfield Brown was my husband's Great-grandfather. Henry Allen Brown was his grandfather.

We would like to get in touch with you to see what you know about David's family.

We drove by the Brown Cemetery which you had documented on findagrave.com. The directions were very good. We couldn't see the sign as it had faded and we weren't looking for it to be on a telephone pole. We contacted the land owner and hopefully we can visit again when we can actually go to the grave sites.

We have allot of questions about the other children.

When reading the William Brown information on Genealogy.com, we found that Johnnie Matthias Brown had been married to 3 women. David's mother was Nadine Long Brown. He was living with them when he died. David can remember quite a bit. He was 8 when he was adopted by the Larimer's here in Dallas County. He was left with Nadine's brother, Clifford Long, and did not see his mother again. His sister Mary died from LouGehrig's disease. Find A Grave Memorial# 33656347

Clifford F. Delcour
Dear Frank - Clifford was married to my mother's sister, Sybil Shumate. The both of them were like a second set of parents to me. I spent many weekends and hours with both of them. He taught me how to fish, shoot and hunt and a lot of other things about being a young man that shaped me into the man I am today. I have hours and hours of fond memories. Thanks for keeping his memory alive through this Find A Grave memorial.

Kind Regards - Robert Risner, rrisner@halltechinc.com

PS: I also live in KCMO.

Rachel A. Dennis
Hi Frank,
Rachel Dennis was married to one of my Holmans. I'm curious about the name on her stone. She was married three (I'm not sure about the third) times but she didn't put her last married name on the stone?

Can you help me understand why people do this?

Thanks.

Julie Ann Lee FAGG
Hello,
Thank you so much for the pic of the stone for Julie Ann Lee Fagg. It really clarifies some info for her.
I believe her birthdate is incorrect- the date listed for her birth is actually her marriage date to Joseph A. Fagg.
I am also not convinced that the death date is correct. Julie is not in the 1900 census with Joseph, but he is listed as married. An alternate death date, but unsourced, is Dec 1897.
Having a pic of the stone is so great.
Julie is my 3rd great grandaunt, dau of my 4th great grandparents, Preston M. Lee and wife Jane Hay.
I appreciate your time and effort to do this for me.

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP. HIS DEATH CERTIFICATE SAYS HE IS BURIED AT COMPETITION, MO. HE EITHER DOES NOT HAVE A TOMBSTONE OR THAT HE IS BURIED IN ANOTHER CEMETERY AT COMPETITION, MO. YOU HAVE BEEN VERY HELPFUL.
