Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've lived in Eugene, Oregon since I was a child (originally from Superior, Montana).
Currently retired/disabled and photographing gravestones for a hobby and exercise.

Any and all photos that I have posted are for whoever wants them. Please feel free to use them and/or post them however you want. No reference or credit needs to be given me.

Note to other photographers:
Many (if not most) people would love to see their ancestor's gravestones in full and in their setting. When shooting a stone, please take it from a distance enough to capture the stone accordingly. If it's one of those old, tall stones, take two shots; one as described and one close-up of the name and dates.
I have had to add shots to hundreds of memorials that already had shots because the existing one was just a close-up of the name and dates.

R L Wirtz.-- You took a photo of Alvin's grave marker. His site does not say where that is, can you send info to site owner about where your photo was taken? He can add location for him then. here is his info for site. Thanks tom c.--

Hi and Happy Holidays,
Do you know if this William J Miller is the same man that worked in the tax office from 1913-1922 in the Eugene, Oregon area? I have his signature on several tax papers of our Knowles family in Eugene, Oregon.

The William J Miller that I'm want is the sibling of Frankie Miller Callison and Ida Miller Cook who were from the New Salem, Cowley county, Kansas area but their parents Oliver P Miller and Mary Miller were from Clay county, Illinois area.

Why I'm asking, I have family photos of 3 Miller siblings who are the children of Mary and Oliver Miller. This Miller family has ties to several of our ancestors.

Thank you,

RE: Johannah Imhof
Yes. Sorry, if I didn't explain correctly. You have actually listed the birth/death dates on her memorial for Jacob's 2nd wife Anna Gest. To make things easier I have now swapped the photos & info. All that needs to be corrected are Johnanah Dasso Imhoff's birth/death dates. 1873-1895. Your memorial lists his 1st wife Johanna Dasso, but with the dates for his 2nd wife, Anna Gest. Jacob is buried between his two wives. Thank you!

(Rock Island Argus - May 7, 1895, Page 8, Image 8.)

Yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock at her home, 740 Ninth street, occurred the death of Mrs. Jacob Imhoff, who had long been a sufferer with consumption. She was 22 years of age, and leaves with her husband two small children. The funeral will be held from the residence at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.

Quaker Graveyard - request for Mary Painter
The Quaker Graveyard does exist, but it is now part of the Nineveh Presbyterian Cemetery. I will try to go fulfill your request, but the Quaker part of the cemetery is much older and there are many stones that are unreadable or with no inscriptions. Maybe I'll have good luck, though.

You can see the Find a Grave page for the Nineveh Cemetery here:
