I have been in this business for almost 16years and find myself learning something new on a daily basis. I originally researched only my family's roots however I soon found that my talents could assist others in their quest for knowledge. |
Any information on my memorials is either my own or taken from public historical documents. If you are on a memorial with a photo I took, then please ask me if you can use the photo. Thanks!
If you would like assistance with your genealogy or more information on any of the individuals in my database, then please e-mail me!
THANKS TO MY SPONSORS!!!

|Jackie & Ralph||Transfers|
We transfer memorials within Find a Grave Guidelines. You did state how you are related
|Margaret Sopp||Ada & William Walker transfers|
You asked me to transfer these two memorials to your care. My connection to William and Ada is through Ada's brother, John Stern, who married my cousin, Edith Ann Sprankle. I do like to manage the memorials for my "blood" cousins and their spouses, and since I am not "blood" related to William and Ada, I am willing to transfer. Perhaps you can return the favor one day. :-)
|Cindy Taylor-Matuse||Willard Piper|
Yes, he is my family member. But I will be happy to add any information to his memorial you may want to add. Thanks.
|B.J. Waters||Oscar Decker|
Hello! I am about to fulfill your photo request and just wanted you to know that I found two other Deckers nearby: Omer and Mary. They are located 2 rows below Oscar, and slightly to the north. They may be related.

I agree with you, Grace Edith Daniels Hannum is buried in Illinois, and we have the Illinois, Deaths and Stillbirths Index, 1916-1947 record of her death - which I note you've added information from that to her Find A Grave record.
Roy Chance Hannum is buried in Missouri, according to the Missouri death records, which someone referred to on his Find A Grave memorial.
Grace died in 1945, age 63; Roy died TWENTY YEARS LATER, in 1965, age 81.
Whatever family members were living who ordered the tombstone for Roy's grave in 1965 may have thought about moving Grace's remains to Missouri, or not. Who knows. Maybe they just thought it was a nice gesture to put both names on the same stone. Possibly when Grace died (in 1945), Roy had his name engraved on that gravestone, thinking he would join her there. Many people do that. But he didn't die until 20 years later, in another state - Missouri.
They were married on 21 January 1931, Cook County, Illinois; she was 49, he was 46. They had no children.
For future reference, can you add Roy's Find A Grave Memorial# 100607098 to her Find A Grave Memorial record?
I've puzzled over this problem long enough and I'd like to put it to rest. :) While researching the Hannum family for a friend, I ran across the mystery. This is the first time in 40 years of genealogical research that I've run across gravestones in two different cemeteries for the same two people. I'm sure there are other similar situations.
Thanks for your input. It always helps to have another viewpoint.

I have a mystery to solve! Two people, both buried in two different cemeteries! At least, they have gravestones in two different cemeeteries.
I have checked and double-checked all the records, and they are definitely the same people.
The Find A Grave record for Roy Chance Hannum, and his wife, Grace Edith Daniels Hannum (Find A Grave Memorial# 24040177) show that they are buried in Vogt End Cemetery, Tinley Park, Cook County, Illinois.
They are also buried in Ozark Cemetery, Ozark, Christian County, Missouri:
Roy Chance Hannum: Find A Grave Memorial# 100607098
Grace Edith Hannum: Find A Grave Memorial# 100607144
One problem with this is that the people who created the records for Ozark Cemetery have disabled their message system, and there is no way to contact them. I find this most unfortunate, because a note showing what is on the Missouri death record for Roy Chance Hannum is shown on his Ozark Cemetery record. That information helps to verify that he and his wife are also buried in Vogt Cemetery.
He died in Missouri in 1965; she died in Illinois in 1945. I am guessing that, at some point, the remains were dis-interred from one cemetery and re-interred in the other cemetery.
I've ordered an obituary for Grace Edith Hannum, since that information was found in one of her records. I don't know if that will solve the problem, but probably not, since he died 20 years later.
How can I contact the people who created the record for Ozark Cemetery?
Do you have any suggestions for me?

I looked at the burial record for Section 6-Block A-Lot 51. The only Palicka buried there is a Corrine Palicka that died in 1935 at age 6.
Their is no one in that plot that died in 1955. if this is the correct Palicka her parents are:
Frank James Palicka. mother is Lillian Burianek. They were divorced before the 1930 census. There is a monument at that location I will try and photograph on my next trip to Saint Adalbert Cemetery.

Hi, I received your request to add his middle name Frederick, but couldn't confirm it. What is your source? Thanks for sharing.

Hi there...I'm so glad to find this memorial to Charlotte Blanche Crawford who d. 1975 in River Forest, IL. She was a cousin of my mother and her siblings. My family grew up in Oak Park, and I heard about this girl and her mother since I was a child, but we never met her. In 1969 my folks moved from Oak Park to River Forest, and I'm shocked now to find that she died in River Forest. I only started genealogy in 1982. Finding Find a Grave has been great for me, and my Ancestry membership. Would you allow me to copy this picture to my Ancestry database for Charlotte Crawford Dare? Perhaps others you've taken that pertain to this family that I've not yet found? I would give credit to you as "GeneaProtector" -- or not. So sad these cousins (my mother and her) did not know each other. My mother's mom lived with her Aunt Ida Pond (grandmother of Charlotte) for a few years in Blandinsville, IL. Small world. Thanks. Joann.
