|I research family history as a personal hobby for family and friends. In most cases, I have family or personal ties to the vast majority of the memorials that I manage.|
I welcome the input of others to improve the completeness and accuracy of information in the memorials that I manage. However, most of the Edit capabilities in Find A Grave do not allow submitters to provide any details about their sources of information. I encourage you to PLEASE use the "Suggest any other correction or addition" feature on the Edit tab of the memorial or use the "Leave Message" feature on my profile page to cite your sources which I will include in the Bio field of the memorial.
Based on nearly two decades of family research, I have found that most online family trees (e.g., Ancestry, FamilySearch, MyHeritage) suffer from the following problems: they do not properly conform to the Genealogical Proof Standard (look it up), most are copies of other trees and continue the spread of inaccurate information.
To anchor dates and places, please provide details about the source(s) of your information so that others can research/validate these and cite them in their research documentation.

There is documentation for Wilhelm in 3 places: Family Search has much documentation. Ancestry has loads of documentation. and My Heritage also has many who have shared his info. All are accepting of the others. You are welcome to look at my account on on any of these places because it is open.
Hi Erick, I always let family know when I post photos to their memorials. I photographed yesterday at Sunny Lane Cemetery and posted 2 pics here: Memorial# 59105807
Please let me know if you would like them removed. Best regards, RC

May I use the photo of Greenwood Cemetery in Newton, KS, for my tree? Many thanks!
Do any of your Eggers have Pennsylvania connections?
|Eric Schumacher||RE: Otto Schumacher|
The obituary was cut out and pasted into a scrapbook without a date. Since Otto died on Feb. 29, 1928, it probably appeared in the Courier-Journal on March 1, 1928, maybe the 2nd, but I'm not sure.
|Eric Schumacher||RE: Schumacher|
I would be Fred Jr.'s first cousin 1x removed according to Ancestry.com. His father and my grandfather, Edwin F. (Butch) Schumacher, were brothers; two of thirteen children. Fred Sr. was the oldest and my grandfather was #11. They were 25 and 6 when their father died (ironically while giving a sermon about the MO. Synod raising $1,000,000 for widows and orphans of deceased and retired pastors), so Fred Sr. was more like a father to him than an older brother.
Fred Sr. took the call at our church to fill his father's vacancy and served here until his death. He and his family lived just down the street from his mother and younger siblings, so they saw each other often, if not daily. Fred Jr.'s brother, Paul told me that Butch liked to joke with them growing up, telling them stories about fake uncles and trying to convince them that he had a wooden leg.
One of Fred Sr.'s big pushes was for the building of our church. Sadly, he didn't live to see it beyond the design phase, but Fred Jr., fresh out of seminary, was the guest preacher for its dedication in June, 1952. You can see him on the film of that event here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7N3fsQPpKM
The day prior to the dedication, Fred Jr. preformed the first marriage in the new church, his sister Elsa to prominent ELCA minister, Martin Marty.

Hi Erick, just wanted to say thank you so much for taking the time to post all this information. August Pope was my grandfather and my dad, Ronald Ray Pope, will be very glad to hear this information also. Hope to say hello in person someday as we are obviously related! Take care, -Ronnie Pope in Texas

This is posted right under the photo of the cemetery gate
Don't show cemetery photos
on this memorial [?]
Added by: Erick Wagner
I think someone from the web site must have put it there. Seems like it should have said
Cemetery Photo added by: Erick Wagner
and the other statement left off.
As long as no one takes down the cemetery photo I don't care if it is there.
I was just curious because it looked like you have posted that and obviously you did not.
Elizabeth was my great grandmother and her grave is to the left as you enter the cemetery a few rows from the front
Thanks for responding.

I am responsible for her memorial page and I was wondering why you posted the statement about no cemetery photos on the page. I like the photos that are posted there. Actually went from California to Oklahoma to make sure the grave was still OK. Just a little curious about your statement. No big deal as long as the photos remain. Cheryl
