My name is Jerri, and I live in Thurston Co., Washington. Genealogy has been my hobby for over 40 years. I discovered Find A Grave during a project for the DAR, and what a great way to help other genealogists and researchers! This is a perfect opportunity for anyone to document those deteriorating tombstones in their area, as well as helping others who live too far away to do it themselves!
The project I worked on was tasked with locating and documenting the burial place of 767 very special DAR members, who were actually daughters of Revolutionary War Patriots. We found almost all of them, and they are grouped in virtual cemeteries by the state in which they were buried.

Could you please rearrange the pictures so that Mariah and husband are at the top. Mariah was my grandmother's cousin, in fact they look like sisters. I grew up in New Lexington so I know all about the DAR. We want to see her face. BTW I also used to live in your neck of the woods, Federal Way and DesMoines. Thank you.

Hi Jerri, A special thank you for all the time consuming work you do at preserving history. Keep up the great work.

|Linda Haynes||Ann Deakins Bigelow Cemetery Ohio|
Thank you, I have been looking into Priscilla Deakins DeWitt. Her husband Henry must have died in Ohio. They are together in 1850 census of Ohio, but she is alone (with children) in 1865 Illinois census. She came to Fulton County Illinois where her brother was. I find her in the 1900 census. Am trying to find a death date and burial for her. I am betting she is in the Cuba cemetery but no record yet. When snow melts I will check tombstones in the family area. Thank you for the info on Ann.
|carolyn ||DAR Helen Marie James|
Just wanted to say Thank You for all you do. Their are no other free sites for finding relatives who have passed on. Helen Marie was my Aunt on my fathers side she died from an illness at age 16. Now my father. another aunt, James Grandparents and other relatives are buried close to her. I don't have a credit or debit card so most searches are a dead end. They offer free trials but want a credit card number. I was named after my aunt (I'm Carolyn Marie James). Thanks for finding and cleaning her headstone I live in Kansas, so am unable to tend to them. The others were also cleaned by local folks but I have no way of thanking them. God Bless You.

|Nancy Bushong||Field Family|
Hello my name is Nancy Bushong #47574882. I'm doing research for my daughter-in-law. I noticed you maintain a memorial for Richard Lorenzo Field. There is a lengthy list of his children. Could you please tell me where you got this list, example census records?
|Greg Furniss||Townsend Cemetery|
The Moses Townsend Cemetery, Crown Point, Essex Co, NY is located on the North Side of the Sam Curran Road, approx. 3/4 of a mile from the intersection with County Route 7. It is on private property, so visitors should be courteous & ask permission at the adjacent house.
|Shari Hanson Frey||Real Daughter's graves|
I am working on a new website for Nebraska State DAR. On the website, I am adding a page for each of the real daughters buried in our region of the country (mostly Nebraska). I was wondering if I could use some of your photos for the website and give you credit by adding Photo by Genibug (or another name if you wish).
Great of you do take on the Real Daughters project!!!
|Tim & Grace||Lydia Rollins Wixson in Augusta, Maine|
I just added some photos for DAR "Real Daughter" Lydia Rollins, wife of James Wixson, buried in Augusta, Maine. She is listed as being in Bien Venue Cemetery... but I think it might be just south of the avenue that separates it from Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
You might want to re-arrange the sort order of the photos.
I also added the death record and a "virtual" DAR "Real Daughter" plaque for Nancy (Allen)(Simmons) Warren. (I based it on her sister Hannah's plaque) I still haven't found her gravestone in Canton, Maine. She is likely buried with her first husband, Calvin Simmons and perhaps also her brother, Lorenzo Dow Allen. If we can find one of them, we will probably find them all.
I have been finding a lot of War of 1812 soldiers now that we have that Bicentennial coming up. I have made a few "virtual cemeteries' to try to keep track of them.
Sincerely, Tim Cooper
