I grew up a Texan, but my heritage is primarily Acadian and French Canadian with a few Germans and a couple of native American grandmothers in the mix. I am especially interested in the Cajuns who settled in the China, Texas area in the early 1900's. I am searching for information on a gg grandfather, Louis Daigle, who probably lived in the Batson, Texas area around 1870. He was born in Church Point, LA in 1830 to Louis Daigle and Adeline Lejeune.|
I love to share my photos and information, but please ask permission before using them. Thanks!

I was at the Cemetery a few days back and I have one of Teddy's grave marker (military) that is a little bit clearer than the one posted. So if you want my picture posted let me know.

Birthplace is Louisiana.Lists birthdate as 7/21/11 and death date as 1/21/1982. I believe the birth year was a mistake made by the funeral home as the "signature of informant" is stated as "funeral home records". Normally, you'd see a person of the family sign in this spot. It's the only death certificate I've seen so far without a family member's signature. Her parents are listed as Isaac Bonin and Ida Guidry and that she is buried in China Cementery. Her residence is listed as Jefferson County with PO Box number, but shows she owns her own home. It states her place of death is Chambers County and lists the Medical Center of Winnie. It states she was 70 years old upon passing. Judge Mary Dugat signed it as well as Broussard's Mortuary.
btw: My great-grandfather was from Church Point. I have two grandfathers from there McBride and Cole.
|ClaireBear||RE: Elma Leger|
No, it lists her as widowed. I'm wondering if Leger wasn't a second marriage because I've seen another name listed with hers, Clyde Ellis Smith. It's possible she outlived 2 husbands. Not certain, just what I can find online social secuity death index. The sister I'm looking for is Grace A. Bonin that was married to a Euel Curtis Moor.

No, I'm not clear on that. It took me forever to track her down. There is one more sibling of hers I've yet to find by the name of Grace Bonin.
I have the death certificate of Elma Leger who is also known as Alma Marie Bonin, sister to several siblings. I'm not sure why the spelling is how it is, but it shows her parents to be Isaac Bonin and Ida Guidry. I'd be happy to share it with you but don't see a way to attach it in this forum.
