My wife got me interested in genealogy while she was doing research on her side of the family (Knapp, Warren, Peace,Carroll,Barnett, Boydstun(on) and French). |
I also listed Fort Worth, Texas Police Officers killed in the line of duty. I knew the officers killed between 1973 to 2008 (18 total). The Fort Worth Police Department has had 54 Officers killed in the line of duty since 1892.
E-mail me with any additions, corrections or removal requests. I will be more than glad to add info, obits, bios or do corrections to any memorial.
I hope the people or information about them I have listed will help you in some way.

|G.D. Shrader||A question...please|
Greetings and blessings to you,
I will be driving through Texas this coming week and would like to visit the graves of Lecie Montgomery Caskey and her husband John Green Caskey....buried in the Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery in Retreat, Texas. I have called the cemetery until I turned blue and they never answer and do not return calls. There are over 4,000 graves and I am somewhat disabled. Would you per chance have a record of what area in the cemetery they might be buried? If I could narrow it down it might be doable for me to find it. May God keep you well.

Ohhhhhhhhh shoot! I didn't realize I was looking at a Blooming Grover "results" of Welch surnames. So, there goes my hopeful theory. LOL! Henry Welch is the best "fit" as Samuel's father according the multiple census, but I still haven't found more evidence yet. The Henry Welch in those census reports appears to be the one buried in Pontotoc County, Mississippi, but there are still confusing factors of his wife, being the mother. Anyway, thank you for your time, and I'm terribly sorry I wasted your time!!!!

The 1st mem. I listed is yours and the other is Karen's. Do you have any idea if these graves are situated together in the cemetery like family does sometimes? All the census' I have found that "might" be of Samuel Booker, he is with a Henry Welch, but I still can't prove it for sure. So, I'm wondering if maybe I need to search out this Darius Welch to see what I find.
|William Gorman||RE: William T. Allman #14143883|
Someone who posted that information (re. Ola) got William T. Allman (b. 1831) confused with his grandson Willam T. Allman 2nd (b. 1880). The grandson married Lula Viola "Ola" Norris in 1900 in Navarro County. They lived in Hubbard, Hill County, Texas at the time of his 1958 death in a Corsicana Hospital. The grandson and his wife are buried in Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard. The grandfather is buried in Grange Hall Cemetery in Cryer Creek. The grandfather who is the subject here was married four times and only came to Texas after 1910 from McDonald County, MO. His last wife was Susan A. Collins who he married in Benton County, AR in 1876. After her husband (the grandfather here) died in 1914, she moved back to live with relatives in Missouri where she died the following year and was buried in Tracy Cemetery in McDonald County, MO. It took me quiet a while to get this all straight, but I now have a very complete documentation trail which supports the above story. I will be making Edit suggestions to get these family members linked up.

You created the above memorial and included the comment "Husband of Ola (UNKNOWN) Allman". I was wondering about the source of this information. There are descendants of a William T. Allman who was born in TN in Oct 1831 (from 1900 Census) or 1835 or 1936 (from the 1870 and 1880 Census records) of Benton County, AR. Some of his descendants who lived in the Rankin/Byrd area believe that the William T. Allman buried in Cryer Creek Cemetery is their ancestor. This William T. Allman was still living in Benton County, AR in 1910 and was supposed to have come to Ellis County, Texas just before he died. This William T. Altman had three known wivee: 1) Elizabeth Ann Brown
2) Nancy Elizabeth Basinger
3) Susan A. Unknown
All of these wives died in Arkansas.
Any help on the source for the wife name of Ola is appreciated.
(I am from the Rankin area and related to some of the Basinger descendants but not directly related to William T. Allman.

James William Speegle is the biological father of Jessie Francis Powell 41957282. Her Mother, his 1st wife, was Sallie E Lewis Speegle (ca 1865). I have not been able to locate when she died, and/or where she is buried. I may have to write for Sallie's death certificate. I have Jessie Francis' death certificate, but I have decided to blur out social sec numbers before adding to family memorials. It indicates these 2 as parents.
Jessie is my great-grandmother, and Sallie is my gr gr grandmother. And obviously, James William is my gr gr grandfather.
I have asked you to add Jessie's link to his memorial, and hope you will add a message in the bio that Sallie E Lewis Speegle is the mother, not Lela Franks. Sallie must have died before he married Lela... (assuming). In both Jessie's obit and her brother William David's obit (not on Find A Grave, buried in Dresden), they list Mrs J W Speegle (Lela Franks) as step mother. Many newspaper clippings through the family years Lela Franks Speegle is referred to as mother, of course.
ALSO, will you add William David "Dave" Speegle 1887-1937 to James William Speegle's bio when you add Jessie's link?
Thanks, Cindy (sorry this is so long)
